I'd also appreciate the use of a new Bond theme for the trailers... The other one has officially been done to death, which is a shame because it was a good orchestration.

Couldn't agree more. I would've been more excited for Blood Stone and even GoldenEye 2010 if the publicity was handled a lot better. I've actually grown to loathe the Casino Royale trailer music now, as you probably know.

Doesn't look like we'll be getting another one, Blood Stone has sold somewhere around 50,000 units, which is atrocious.

Yeah but it's not surprising, I don't recall a marketing campaign at all. I think we got like 5 trailers and a bunch of production vids but that's it. No commercials or ads on any other websites. Pretty poor effort from Activision. Quantum of Solace sold more than a million games, thanks to a pretty decent marketing strategy ("Best Bond since Goldeneye"). Blood Stone didn't get that. It's pretty annoying.

I thought I saw a very quick TV spot, but it was on in the wee hours, and given that it was on so late, I can't really remember if it was Blood Stone or GoldenEye Wii. Still, that was about it in terms of actual marketing. I probably wouldn't even have heard of it if I wasn't on this (or another) Bond site.

Honestly I'm not surprised it had a piss poor marketing effort. That really seems to be the norm for most publishers unless it's something they already expect will do well.

Still have yet to buy it (I know), but a bit disappointed. It sounds like it was a step in the direction I'd like to see Bond games go. Hopefully someone else picks up the mantle.

Quantum had some pretty solid advertising and it shows in the sales. Even the commercials were of pretty high quality. Blood Stone would have had a chance if people actually knew about it aside from us diehards. Oh well, on to the next one I guess.

Indeed. I still hope they do a sequel. I'd much rather have original stories over film tie-ins.

Unless they can get Roger Moore or something.

I've said this before, but the world needs a Moonraker or TSWLM game. Or a Timothy Dalton game, which will never happen, off course.

But contrary to other fans (it seems), I certainly don't think we have seen the last of Dan Craig in a Bond game.

After the staggering failure of Blood Stone, I really just hope we get another game period.

They should just make Goldeneye over and over again. You know , Activision , as well as I do , that it would sell more than the original stories. Oh yes , it would , it would...

Just don't do rogue agent twice. Just re-do , re-boot original Goldeneye every few years and market it as a game any real player (or a fan) , especially those wearing rose tinted glasses would want to play.

Bad attempt at sarcasm aside , I do hope that Activision , like any big game publisher out for (more) cash would have a GEWii port made for PS3 and Xbox 360.
"I'd buy that for a dollah!"

I'm sure we will but chances are it wil most likely be more first person possibly based off an older film reimagined.

If nothing else we'll get a tie in In 2012 but hopefully the raven FPS stealth based bond game is a reality and does come out next year.

Well, I suspect they may do another game that is similar to GoldenEye. Developed by Eurocom, Wii exclusive, uses the same engine, just a different plot and some updated features. I wouldn't complain either.

I do hope that Activision takes more risks though. GoldenEye was a safe bet (though far from a sure bet). Blood Stone was a risk and while it came up short both critically and commercially, it's good that they still attempted it. I'd like to see them try something a little more risky though. Something we don't expect for a Bond game. Whether that be an RPG that works like Mass Effect or Alpha Protocol or a more open world in the same vein as Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption, I don't know. Just something new and unexpected of them.

a bond rpg similar to Protocol with Criag voicing yeah that would be the best game ever :D

I don't think it will be wii exclusive I do think the next one will be FPS

I used to like the idea of a Bond RPG but I think the lack of new films has softened me a bit, and I really want another cinematic experience like Bizarre gave us, just with a bit more polish. I personally would be all for CGI cutscenes. I really hope they stick with TPS, but I know better.

Not so much the next one being a Wii exclusive, just that I think another one will be. All the ground work is there. Maybe it can transfer over and be multiplatform. I don't know.

Judging by recent track records, Activision buying Eurocom would likely lead to it's dismemberment. I would like them to do another Bond game, because they certainly seem to "get it," and haven't produced a poor title yet.

I still wish we had Bizarre. Driving sections won't be the same.

Eurocom is a very healthy independent developer. Activision doesn't need to own them to get them to do a Bond game. GoldenEye was Eurocom's 5th.

you are right .. I meant that bond should have one or two developer that working on games every year like COD , transformer , .. etc . but now we dont know who is focusing in bond , the developers are changing every time and this is not good ..

It's fine. It brings a fresh perspective to the franchise as far as I'm concerned. Plus you get variety. Your Blood Stones with GoldenEyes instead of just one of those year after year.

Yeah, bringing in new creative teams with fresh ideas is important for a franchise like Bond. Imagine if we had the same director for every film.

Imagine if we had the same director for every film.

John Glen - directed 5, additional stuff on 3. (I realize I very well could be shooting myself in the foot by bringing this one up)
Terence Young - directed 3.
Martin Campbell - directed 2.

Nothing necessarily wrong with recycling the team(s). But agreed, using the same group over and over would get stale eventually. Nothing wrong with giving people a couple of trot-outs instead of "Right, you make a game for X year, you make a game for Y year, you make a game for Z year, and we'll make a game for this year" every single time they come round to developing.

Have a feeling it's going to be more of the same for a little while regardless of who develops. NF/AUF/GE/QOS style business. Still really want to see a Dalton/Lazenby/Moore game that's EON/BS style. Third person, fairly cinematic, etc.

Time will tell.

Well yeah that's what I meant. Having the same team do every damn game would suck. Eurocom I wouldn't mind getting the bulk of the work, but I'd like some dev teams who have a pedigree with TPS to do some work on a game every so often as well.

I'd like more stealth based element bloodstone was ok but still had the 2 unwritten rules of seemingly all spy games one level where bond has to baby sit a room wil gaurds flood in and a helicopter to blow up[ (however destroying Rook's Helicopter was imaginitve but still annoying)

I want something fresh and new i'd like them to build up the investigative aspects that Bloodstone had.
