Had a bit of free time today, and honestly felt like doing some more bond music... so why not continue on with Goldeneye? :)

This is a short piece that is classic Arnold Bond... a version of the bond theme to accompany Bond's arrival in St Petersburg. Figured it'd be fun to throw in a small throwback to the goldeneye N64 game within as well. Enjoy!

Listen to the MP3 here:

Watch the scene with the new music here:

Hopefully more to come soon!

Very good sir!

The subdued Bond theme in the background (xylophone?) helps it have a distinct Goldeneye feel, while retaining the Class Bond feel also.

I love it when the Bond theme kicks in ... even though the Petersburg arrival is one of the more enjoyable cues of Serra's score.

Did you think about stopping the cue when the conversation starts? That would, to me, feel a bit more natural.

Great work, Rich. Would be neat to see the whole film re scored ala the Never Say Mclory Again DVD years back.

Thanks!

Bin - it's a synthetic xylophone with FX applied to give it more of a techy vibe... seemed like a good call :)

gk - I thought about it... and honestly I was on the fence so I just went ahead and scored much of the sequence. It could go either way in my humble opinion. Agreed, I've always enjoyed that particular Serra cue.

Jeff - I plan on re-scoring the whole thing....eventually. However I doubt I'll have the time or want to put the whole thing together as one cohesive experience. You'll just have to watch the sequences separately on youtube ;).

I may try to tackle the Onatopp bath house sequence next... though I'm a bit stumped on how to approach that one at the moment and may just press on to the tank chase... which should be fun.

Great work Rich :), excellent way to bring out the scene when bond is arriving! I can't wait to hear what you got in store for the tank scene, What Software do you use for making your music? What instruments did you use?

The tank scene should be fun for sure..... I'm definitely looking forward to scoring it!

As for virtual instruments, here's what I've been using for all of my goldeneye rescore cues:

Wivi brass - amazing/versatile/lifelike brass lib... Been using it for any "wah wah" trumpet material
Custom samples - a slew of my brass and string stacc samples are custom and not commercially available.. The trombone staccs heard in this piece for example.
Project Sam brass - 10 years old and still almost the best brass out there
Symphobia - the string sustains for the bond theme in this cue came from this lib... Amazing stuff.
Omnisphere - the xylophone synthy bit came from this lib.... Very versatile with TONS of useful material
Evolve - many of my electronics and percussion come from this lib

Tons more odds and ends... But those are the basics.

More music hopefully soon :)
