Believe it or not, the gear knob from the Aston Martin DB5 from Bond movies Goldfinger & Thunderball is expected to fetch between £10k and £15k at auction.

Yes, that’s just for the bit of bakelite, not the car. A much better buy is a 1998 Jaguar XKR, used as a ­special effects vehicle in Die Another Day, after conversion by Jaguar and Pinewood Studios’ SFX teams, estimate £25k-£35k.

I know which bit of memorabilia I’d buy.
