I'm sure that a great many of us here would not be Bond fans if it weren't for Sean Connery's portrayal of the character back in 1962. And he was more than just the character of "Bond...James Bond" as he proved with films such as "The Hill" and "A Fine Madness" (a comedy!) back in the Sixties to "The Offence", "Robin & Marian" and "The Great Train Robbery" in the Seventies and films like "The Name of The Rose" in the Eighties. His final scene in "The Untouchables" still brings a lump to my throat whenever I see it.
Here's to you, Mr Connery. I could say stuff like "nobody did it better" or "you left us shaken, not stirred" or other poor attempts at being witty.
Instead, I'll just say "Thank-you and Happy Birthday, Sir".

As an actor, you entertained the masses, seduced the women and made most men want to be exactly like you whilst making it all look effortlessly natural. Sean you are an incredible craftsman, a livincg champion, an icon and a ridiculously huge influence in my life. There is none like you and when it comes to the Bond legacy, no one even comes close and no one ever will.
