I'm very sorry if this has been posted before, and if so delete this thread :)

I was looking around Youtube and found this video with behind the scenes footage of the alternate ending to Quantum Of Solace. The poster edited in some footage from the ending of the game however, possibly to give a more 'complete' idea of how the scene would have played out. The footage starts at around 1.16.

It's not much but it's nice to have a clearer picture as to how the scene looked. The background looks familiar too, I think it looks very similar to a QOS publicity image with Craig posing with his silenced Walther. Perhaps that was from the scene too.

Either way, I hope this is new, I for one was very excited to see this footage.

I'm surprised nobody has commented on this yet because I personally had never seen either scene before. I've never played the video game all the way through and I've only seen stills from the White scene.

It looks like Guy Haines originally had a bigger role in the film than what was shown in the final cut. I wonder if Haines will return in 'Bond 23'?

Maybe Bond will catch up with him in the PTS just to settle everything related to CR/QoS or to eleminate Quantum for the time being. Much like roaches when the lights come on, Quantum will go to ground now knowing that MI6 and Bond are on to them.

I have seen this footage before, on YouTube a little while back. And what the brief glimpse of the alternate ending suggests to me is that, since his identity was compromised at the opera house, Quantum's man in 10 Downing Street is about to be silenced permanently by Mr White ("It wasn't your fault, but, they know who you are"). So, no more Guy Haines - probably! Well, not on the cinema screen that is! :)

You never know, it could've had one of those clichéd shots, where it zooms into Haines' face and we hear a gun shot. We think Haines is dead, (We don't really, since we've seen this done many times), and it then reveals a dead White, and Bond standing with a gun.

Haines: WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?
Bond: The name's Bond, James Bond.

"It wasn't your fault, but ... they know who you are."

Sounds like White is about to kill off Haines. Which is interesting - Haines is the Special Envoy to the Prime Minister, so he's obviously very high up in the Quantum hierachy. Which means White is more than a simple cleaner. I suspect he may be the right-hand man of whoever is running Quantum with access to everything they do. Which is keeping in character since he attends the meeting at Tosca without saying a word. He may be Quantum's man on the street; I doubt MI6 would have been able to capture him if he was the man in charge of everything.

Of course, that would assume that the deleted scene is canon. And since it's been deleted, I very much doubt it.

Yeah, my take exactly. wish that clip had been on the DVD

Possible. He probably has other aliases too, and "Mr. White" may be one of them. Or he refers to the Quantum leader as some terrifying figure, but it's actually him right under their noses. Which I would like too. In any case, I hope Jesper returns. I don't want his character to die. I want him to always slink away.

And I don't consider that deleted scene canon. Jaws was originally going to be killed by the sharks, but that changed. And Michael Emerson was only going to do three episodes on Lost. If they still don't have any idea who is going to be the Quantum leader, everything is still possible and open.

If it came to be, I'd like to see Jesper's take on the role knowing his character's true importance, rather than being ignorant of it like in CR/QoS. With the veil being lifted on him, hopefully we'd get more of that cackling.

I never got that far in the game; and I guess we'll never see the scene played out...
...or will we?

They could use it as a PTS for Bond 23...........Maybe.

From what we've heard, the scene is small and runs for only a minute or two. I like short pre-title sequences, but not that short. They could film around it to beef up the runtime. Say, show Bond spying on them, sneaking in, dispatching a few guards, and then cue the scene. A "Bond, James Bond" would segue in nicely to the main titles, just like the line closed out Casino Royale. If Jesper has no intention of ever returning, I'd say go for it and tie off his character. But if he wants to return, scrap that and keep the deleted scene as just that.

Or draw out the dialogue, have Bond realise that White is about to kill Haines and attempt to prevent it and detain them by getting in position, only to witness White kill Haines and realise that their best - and only - lead on Quantum has disappeared.

A 1 1/2-2 minute teaser would work fine, as far as I'm concerned. It would be short, sure, but it would be punchy. Not that I think this scene is all that great. From the descriptions we've received as to what the scene entails, it sounds a bit dull, a kind of less exciting spin on the finale of CASINO ROYALE.

Actually, it also sounds like a repeat of Le Chiffre's death scene. Maybe they cut it because it was getting redundant; this would be the third time Quantum killed off one of their own ...
