So we've read the book that reportedly got him the gig of writing Project X and as that was a standalone novel, I thought it might be interesting to take a look at a novel in which he sets up an ongoing universe for his characters to inhabit. Given there's a movie of 'The Bone Collector', I considered our views of the book could be coloured by the movie - and settled on the first of the Kathryn Dance novels 'The Sleeping Doll'.
I thought I'd open this thread now - so people know what we're aiming for next month and can aquire it and read it by the time August comes round.

Read it. Rubbish. About as generic as a book can get.

Actually it is her second appearence in the Deaver booksm she gueststarred in one of the Lincoln Rhyme books.
Oh, yes, I know she was in one of the Lincoln Rhyme novels - but this is the first novel of her own series, which is what I meant.
