When Bond is in Nassau and checking at Alex Dimitrios, Villiers and M are watching. When he watches at Le Chiffre's picture in the known associates section Bond and M have a weird look on their face just like they knew Le Chiffre from the past.

Did they? Why they starred in awe?

Apparently M knew Le Chiffre before. I think Bond stares of admiration because how bigger and how powerful are the terrosrists surrounding Dimitrios. And M knows Dimitrios, and then ***wow*** Le Chiffre is his assosiate?! B) That's it, I think

They probably recognised him from King Arthur.

Yeah I think coming across Le Chiffre is sort of a "Wow, this scheme is much bigger than we thought" moment. M knows Le C. is a major player; some M/Bond dialogue which was deleted suggested that Le Chiffre at one time worked with Saddam Hussein.

I agree dino. Not only that, but M is also probably a little surprised that Bond has stumbled onto something and so quickly, which he hadn't alluded to in their earlier meeting before being told to leave. So not only is he onto something, he's onto something big.

This is also my understanding of it.

Yes, I even recall the deleted quote: "Saddam took a disliking to him after Desert Storm and cut off his head."

I don't recall this!

Here in the deleted scenes there isn't anything like this.

Yes, Aris. Some deleted scenes aren't on the 3 disc DVD. Bond & Vesper's bath in the Egean, for example.
