"That slimmy bugger"
Makes you think, though, in this context, doesn't it?

Reading it in the context of Bond as the ultimate scrounging civil servant, living 5* and jetting round the world on public expenses. We've had the odd problem with our public servants in the UK living off the hog lately.
Though, of course, I'm sure Fleming himself might not mind such a name-checking of Bond in his universe, either, though...

We need a sequel to this - an "epic" Bond - featuring 007 as an agent working (sorry "volunteering") for his dole money, taking on a two bob megalomaniac plotting to take over the world (or failing that, Skegness) from his secret lair above a Pound shop, and concluding with a big battle at sea to showcase these two new aircraft carriers Bond's old service is going to get. (Whether we'll ever see any aircraft taking off from them is anyone's guess!)
