I have just finished reading Fleming's novels (in order) and am up to Gardner. These seem to be harder to come by than Felming's and I was wondering whether people who have read them would recommend that they be read in order?
Most of Fleming's booked referred back to, or mentioned previous missions which was good being able to follow. Does Gardner do this also?

Hey glad you are taking the challenge. I advise you read them in order. If you want to read just the better ones then head over to my site and look at my reviews. I am reading all the Gardner's in order and am on SeaFire (I like it but most hate it). My reviews try not to have spoilers in them. Avoid reading who the villains are cause it usually is a spoiler. I have to avoid reading them when I post reviews so the next one isn't ruined.

I'm with chronicliar on this. With Gardner you can read them in order.

I'd say the same thing. Read them in order if you can. Are you going to or have you read Colonel Sun? I'd give that a read before moving on to the Gardners.

Yes, read Colonel Sun if you want to read them all in order. Ignore the 2 that came out in the 70's. They don't count.

Are you talking about the Christopher Wood novelizations? You might be pleasantly surprised at how good a book "James Bond The Spy Who Love Me" is. Just read the pre-titles sequence to get a taste. I feel itOriginally posted by chronicliar
