Just a quick question: Any way of purchasing a signed copy from you? If not, I will just order from Amazon!

LMAO-well said. You never ordered on Amazon? Really? Never?
God, I agreed to let them have all my and my decendant's earnings for the next hundred years. They're practically supplying everything in my house, might as well send them my monthly pay cheque and go begging for food. If they insisted they could make me wear an Amazon-collar as a mark of my peonage.
God, to meet one of the last free men; on the internet, of all places...

I absolutely adore the cover art you've used, first time I've seen that image of Lazenby before, very stylish IMO.
Really tempted by this book, pay day is just a few weeks away now...
Thanks Shaun,
I love the image as well (it came from a French photographic agency) and knew the instant I saw it that I had found the cover for the book!
I appreciate that you will (hopefully) be spending part of your hard earned paycheck on it. I can guarantee you that if you love this film even a fraction of the amount I do, that the book will be worth every penny.

Interesting, I was not aware of this book, but the author is CBn's own Doublenaughtspy.
I remember him telling me after we had met with Licence to Kill's Priscilla Barnes that he was working on this book but did not know he had completed it. This is a definite purchase.
I am hoping that one day MGM get's doublenoughtspy to record an audio commentary for On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. His passion for the movie is infectious.

It excels in all areas from the literary side to the final release print and, while some may think it is a bit 'pricey', one truly gets the 'bang for the buck' that very few publications regarding James Bond EVER deliver.
Highly recommended and will make one wish for a book like this for the other 21 007 motion pictures.
Top marks, Charles, and all the best with it.

After reading it, that's what I wished for, albeit for only 19 other Bond films.Highly recommended and will make one wish for a book like this for the other 21 007 motion pictures.

And most happily for me, I haven't even finished it yet.

One minor error OHMSS debuted on British TV on 4th September 1978, not 1983. I was there.

I second that. 4th Sept 1978 is not a day I am likely to forget.
I do remember the April 1983 shwoing which was the third UK showing for the film. This was just after the launch of our new Channel 4 and The Avengers was being shown so Diana Rigg had a new legion of fans at the time. The trailers on TV were all about her being in it.

There have, however, been two classics we have been lucky enough to have enjoyed in recent years. Both are must haves.
The first is Robert Sellers' "The Battle for Bond". Priceless.
The second is Charles Helfenstein's book here. Absolutely marvellous.
Both MUST be on the shelf of EVERY serious Bond fan.
Oh, and like MarkA and lazenbyland, I'd concur on the UK ITV debut. As they said, I was there. Supporting OHMSS against the accepted view.

Just arrived and fast. Just flipping through it all I can say is wow. Can't wait to start to read it.
Glad it arrived. I hope you enjoy it. Maybe you'll have to edit your earlier post where you said "I don't think it's anything special."

Congratulations doublenoughtspy. Id imagine Lazenby himself would treasure this labour of love.
