I'll be at the Minnesota appearance tonight - looking forward to it! Supposed to get heavy storms so maybe that will add to the mood. Also, Zencat, I saw you added a listing for Scott Highlands Middle School in MN - that is literally 2 miles from my house and I have a friend who teaches Chinese there, so even if it's a school event I might be able to sneak in. Any details on the times of that?

Don't have school times. Sorry.

Glad you're going to the event. Stormy, eh? Yeah, this will add to the mood. But you'll notice Charlie is sporting a nice sun tan from his day in Santa Monica yesterday.

Certainly the Lost finale tonight is going to put up some competition. But the recap show starts at 7...the finale isn't until 9, so people should be able to get back in time.

"Lost" here actually starts at 8pm and the event at 7pm, so no chance of catching it (I taped it). The funny thing relating to that is with storms coming in the local ABC station had to put on their site "We will only break into programming if a life-threatening weather situation develops. Let's hope that it doesn't so we can all enjoy the season finale!"

It's about 88 degrees and humid today so I'm hoping this isn't a smallish bookstore that skimps on the AC B)

Had a blast last night and got my first edition of "SilverFin" signed. I'd say the talk was 50/50 "The Enemy" and Young Bond. When I got up to meet Charlie I slipped CBn in there and his face just lit up. I was this close to telling him that Zencat was a close personal friend (!) and seeing if he wanted to talk shop over a beer, but I left the man alone B)

Very cool. Thanks for the report, Arbogast777. Yes, fans shouldn't be shy about mentioning CBn. Charlie is a fan.

Hope you enjoyed LOST after (I thought it was a pretty satisfying finale myself).

St. Louis tonight. I believe Mister Asterix will be attending this one.

Don't open that can of worms with me...

Although if you want to know what I thought, see the picture I just posted on my Facebook B)

Very nice. I wonder if it's possible to have a CBn member at every event on the tour?

I believe doublenoughtspy will be going to the first DC event (Politics & Prose bookstore). That leaves NYC (Wed) and the International Spy Museum events to cover.

BTW, was there a Q&A? Did anyone bring up "Project X?"

Yes, there was a Q&A (the whole thing was very open and informal) but no mention of Project X. It felt like the crowd was more into pre-teen lit then Bond specifically (a result of it competing against "Lost" maybe?). Only Bond nugget that stood out was when someone asked if there would be more YB books, and he said that he wanted to write more books of any kind now and would love to do carry on YB but it wasn't up to him.

The familiar question, but he's now answering this in a slightly new way. He tweeted something similar yesterday in answer to someone who asked if he'll ever do an adult Bond novel.

...all Bond decisions are down to Ian Fleming Publications & not me.

coco1997 lives in the Chicago area but he's too cool for Young Bond and therefore has no interest in meeting Mr. Higson. What a shame. B)

Damn straight, is all I can say. Then again, if George Lazenby's proctologist was holding a lecture on the necessity of routine colonoscopies, I know you'd be there in a heartbeat.

You're right. I'd be there alongside doublenoughtspy getting our George Lazenby Sideshow figures autographed.

Looks like we had (at least) three CBners at Charlie's first Washington DC appearance today.

International Spy Museum (2PM) is next.

Yes, and Stuart has a video clip of Charlie revealing something about James Bond that he (Higson) has never revealed before.

Also, what's the true story about the rumored (on Wikipedia) Native American book, and what did Charlie say about writing a possible Young Bond trilogy...all very interesting stuff.

Oh baby...you have me intrigued. Is Shatterhand going to share this on his site? Don't make me wait too long!
