Leslie Grantham is one of my favorite TV Actors, and he made Eastenders for me. When the character of Dirty Den was killed off, the show has gone downhill in my opinion.

I think Grantham is marvelous, and a genuinely mysterious looking guy. He has this look about him that you just love to hate.

Harkin no offense but what have you been smoking?

Seriously Grantham, fair enough in his hey day as Den in Eastenders but when he returned it was a stunt that backfired and he was killed off when he wasn't the ratings winner the Beeb expected.

You'd make Bond a laughing stock if you cast him in any role.

I'll stick to actors like Mads & Almaric thank you!

Leslie Grantham!!!!!!

Well, Grantham's acting anthrax anyway.

Couldn't see the Bond producers taking the chance of Grantham slagging off the acting ability of his c-stars while chucking himself off in front of a web-camera.

PR suicide.

Well, you certainly wouldn't want to be asked to drive him home
while he was using his computer, that's for sure.

Hello Matthew

As a senior member of the forums, and increasingly senior in age (tragically), and a moderator, it's my obligation to be motivating and encouraging and let ideas and discussions develop and ensure that anything has a welcome and is granted mature consideration.

That's a really B) idea.

Oh. And he cannot act. Though he did do well in the part of Den Watts as that sort of worked for the part.

Larry Lamb anyone?

Hey, I take it from your  Mharkin that you're in on the joke :) I'm really not laughing at you..well not really :S Its just a great thread - Dirty Den as Blofield!!! You MUST have been smoking something to come up with that! :S Personally I think that Bond should be called in to stop Dirty Den's heinous plan to take over Mike Baldwin's underwear factory. Deirdre would make a fantastic Miss Moneypenny and Ken would rock as M :| James Bond will return in...'The Rovers Return Royale'
Thank you..I'm here all week :S :| :)

1. Den Watts is a character from Eastenders, not Coronation Street.

and

2. I didn't even suggest Grantham in the role of Blofeld in the first place, so I have no idea where you got that from...

When I stated this on the Random thread re: Eastenders
"When Dirty Den left the series, so did I." B) , I meant it.

But, if Grantham turns up in a Bond film, I shall do the same.

When asked why, at my advanced years, I still like to watch Bond movies, I always reply (tongue firmly in cheek) "Because I find soap operas too far fetched". B)

I never thought we would be discussing them here, but then I've realised that content in these forums can go off in many directions!

As for an East End type hard guy for Bond, if they ever cast one I think it would either be either be Ray Winstone or Vinnie Jones.

Can't see them doing it though. On the other hand, a lot of members are getting in a lather because a certain Quantum hard man may have inadvertently announced his retirement.

Step forward the new "Mr White"? "The first thing you should know about us is that we have people everywhere. Including Albert Square."

He has a big middle parting in that photo. Joking aside, I used to chat to him whilst he was in between filming scenes for Eastenders. Nice chap.

I don't think he is that good an actor. I used to watch Eastenders back in the day and he always seemed like he was reading his lines off the back of props and other actors foreheads.

I have a feeling that we might never see him in a Bond film, but we might just see him in Panto at St Albans this December. B)
