The tribute was great. I'm not at all keen on the trailer though. The GoldenEye trailer music doesn't work, and it's too clunkily edited. The aspect ratio changes put me off as well, but I liked the Lazenby footage you used. (:

Loved the Lazenby in DAF tribute.

Even liked the idea that Bond had grown his hair and a moustache to head East...

Just thing thing I imagined Lazenby-Bond doing after the trauma of Tracey's death.

YOLT late '60s hippie style.

Thanks =)
I'm thinking of doing another Diamonds trailer. Since you didn't like the Goldeneye music, what other music would you suggest to use?

Hm. I don't know. I just feel that the GoldenEye trailer mix (as well as the MOBY, OAKENFOLD and CASINO ROYALE trailer mix) are dreadfully overused. If you want to pick something, be original and exciting.

Yes I know of the Moby and Casino Royale mix and I agree they are overused.

Well here it is:

It really isn't trailer its more like a short film / Preview thing.
The Story
In this version of Diamonds Are Forever, James Bond (George Lazenby) is in a state of depression and alcoholism. Its been almost 3 years since his wife Tracy's death. In that time he hasn't found her killer Ernst Stavro Blofeld. He has been dismissed MI6 after he tortured and killed a Chinese mob boss who had connections to Blofeld. He was deemed too lethal and mentally unbalanced for the service.
Now he lives in Sydney, waiting for his chance to get Blofeld. One night he gets a call from a young CIA agent in South America. He has located Blofeld (Gregory Peck) and informs James he's planning an operation. Before he can say more he is killed by Blofeld and his men. Bond decides to leave for South America but not before a Chinese assassin, on revenge for the mob boss Bond killed, burns and almost kills James. After surviving the assassination attempt Bond travels to South America and finds Blofeld has rebuild SPECTRE through diamond smuggling. Blofeld's plan is to murder 94 active and former agents all around the world as his "coming out of retirement gift" to the intelligence agencies.
Bond heads to New York to warn and protect his friend Felix Leiter. Next he finds himself in the Chinatown district in San Francisco. And finally he travels to Las Vegas where Blofeld is in the midst of making his biggest diamond deal. 007 has a surprise for him.

Prefer the less-is-more of the first trailer, myself. I guess half the fascination of the Lazenby DAF concept is that it remains unseen so we never had the chance to see how good - or - bad it turned out to be.

But seeing the bits you cut in - from the Man from Hong Kong and Stoner, right? - make one see what a lethal 70s Bond Lazenby could have been. EON had some stripped bare, rough Fleming novels left to adapt - LALD and TMWTGG for example. Lazenby would have been far better in them than Grandpa Rog.

"Hope I can live up to your high standards." =)

I may work on a shorter version so it would be a best of both the trailer and the preview. For those interested in the footage I used here's the list. In order of appearance.
OHMSS, For Your Eyes Only, Diamonds Are Forever, The Living Daylights (audio only. "Who are you?"), The Man From Hong Kong, The Boys From Brazil, Bullitt, The Seven Ups, Dirty Harry, Stoner, and UHF for the person explosion.

Ok, here's my third and final version of a Lazenby version of DAF. This time I found better quality versions of Lazenby's post-Bond films. It does run a bit long but in this version there's more of Bond's grief over Tracy then Blofeld's plot.

Hope you enjoy
Next up I'll be doing tributes and trailers to Timothy Dalton, my other favorite Bond actor.

You certainly give a true flavour of a story arc that SHOULD have followed OHMSS.

Lazenby and EON should take note.

Very nice, enjoyed both although the tribute misses one of OHMSS greatest assets - best soundtrack in the series (imho) ^^

Oh I love the soundtrack. Its John Barry's best Bond score along with The Living Daylights. Maybe in the future I'll do another OHMSS video but now I'm working on trailers to other films, crossovers, and a Dalton tribute.

Who knows, maybe (ahem) a new video game. Get George to do the voice work like Connery in the "From Russia With Love" game.

Here's a poster I came up with for DAF and even a short 70's style teaser trailer to go along with it. It was spring break and I was bored =)

Thanks guys

Here's another project I just finished.

n the Simpsons episode "Treehouse Of Horror XIII" in the segment House of Whacks, Marge makes a reference to George Lazenby when Bart says their futuristic home can have the voice of 007. Instead we have the guest voice appearance of Pierce Bronsan. I've included the original and the remix version with audio clips from George. Enjoy

If you do get it to work on Youtube, post the link quick. It seems that they are able to block the video in about 20 to 30 minutes after you put it up. Or you could upload it on another video hosting site.

Good work, THX-007. I especially like the use of Sean Bean's quote from GoldenEye which I've always seen as sort of an indirect reference to Tracy over B & W footage of her and Bond.
