As the discussion about Bond songs is heatening up again, I think it's time to relisten all past official -primary- James Bond songs B). Aim of this contest is very simple: Vote for your TOP 10 of best Bond songs and send your list to my PM-box. So, do NOT post your top 10 in here please, as I want this contest to be as exciting as possible.

I will then attach the eurovision format of awarding points to the top 10's. That is: 1 point for your 10th place, 2 points for your 9th place, 3 points for your no# 8, then 4 points up to 7 points, 8 points for your 3rd placed song, 10 points for your runner-up and finally 12 points for your winner. I will post the interim scores every now and then, but without the actual placings of the songs.

The list of songs include all primary songs that have been used for both official and unofficial Bond films. You can relisten/rewatch all songs in the playlist I've created on YouTube here: http://www.youtube.c...415AAAA61525D12.

Here's the list of all 24 Bond songs. Please judge the song as a plain song and try not to relate it too much to the suitability as a Bond song. Also, try to judge the lyrics and the actual composition:
song 01 --> 'Three Blind Mice/Kingston Calypso'
performed by Byron Lee, composed by Monty Norman, lyrics by Byron Lee
song 02 --> 'From Russia With Love'
performed by Matt Munro, composed by Lionel Bart, lyrics by Lionel Bart
song 03 --> 'Goldfinger'
performed Shirley Bassey, composed by John Barry, lyrics by Leslie Bricusse
song 04 --> 'Thunderball'
performed by Tom Jones, composed by John Barry, lyrics by Don Black
song 05 --> 'You Only Live Twice'
performed by Nancy Sinatra, composed by John Barry, lyrics by Leslie Bricusse
song 06 --> 'The Look Of Love'
performed by Dusty Springfield, composed by Burt Bacharach, lyrics by Hal David
song 07 --> 'We Have All The Time In The World'
performed by Louis Armstrong, composed by John Barry, lyrics by Hal David
song 08 --> 'Diamonds Are Forever'
performed by Shirley Bassey, composed by John Barry, lyrics by Don Black
song 09 --> 'Live And Let Die'
performed by Paul McCartney & Wings, composed by Paul & Linda McCartney, lyrics by Paul & Linda McCartney
song 10 --> 'The Man With The Golden Gun'
performed by Lulu, composed by John Barry, lyrics by Don Black
song 11 --> 'Nobody Does It Better'
performed by Carly Simon, composed by Marvin Hamlisch & Carole Bayer Sager, lyrics by Carole Bayer Sager
song 12 --> 'Moonraker'
performed by Shirley Bassey, composed by John Barry, lyrics by Hal David
song 13 --> 'For Your Eyes Only'
performed by Sheena Easton, composed by Bill Conti, lyrics by Michael Neeson
song 14 --> 'All Time High'
performed by Rita Coolidge, composed by John Barry, lyrics by Tim Rice
song 15 --> 'Never Say Never Again'
performed by Lani Hall, composed by Michèl Legrand, lyrics by Michèl Legrand
song 16 --> 'A View To A Kill'
performed by Duran Duran, composed by John Barry & John Taylor, lyrics by John Taylor
song 17 --> 'The Living Daylights'
performed by A-Ha, composed by John Barry & Pal Waaktaar, lyrics by Pal Waaktaar
song 18 --> 'Licence To Kill'

song 19 --> 'GoldenEye'
performed by Tina Turner, composed by Bono & The Edge, lyrics by Bono & The Edge
song 20 --> 'Tomorrow Never Dies'
performed by Sherly Crow, composed by Sherly Crow & Mitchell Froom, lyrics by Sherly Crow & Mitchell Froom
song 21 --> 'The World Is Not Enough'

As you already know, I've been organizing the Big Bondvision Song Contest 2009 on the Commanderbond forums. But, as I am not a regular visitor (I am posting more frequently on the MI6 forums) I am just beginning to know how everything works on here.

On of the discoveries is, that there's a specific Bond music section as well B) ! I've posted this topic in the 'General Bond Film Discussion' section, in which this topic actually doesn't belong. Perhaps that's the reason I haven't received not as much voting ballots in my PM box on this forum (So far, 43 forummembers on the MI6 forums have voted, and 24 forummembers in here).

That's why I have decided to extend the deadline for the Big Bondvision Song Contest 2009 on here. The final date and time to cast your votes is December 17th 10:00 pm GMT.

Having said that, these are the results after 24 people have voted:

01 --> 154 POINTS
02 --> 139 POINTS
03 --> 138 POINTS
04 --> 123 POINTS
05 --> 105 POINTS
06 --> 093 POINTS
07 --> 088 POINTS
08 --> 086 POINTS
09 --> 081 POINTS
10 --> 065 POINTS

Here are the 24 people who have voted so far:

--> danslittlefinger
--> Gustav Graves
--> jrcjohnny99
--> plankattack
--> Raybondo
--> Cruiserweight
--> Tybre
--> Conlazmoodalbroc….
--> JimmyBond
--> O.H.M.S.S.
--> Mr. Brown
--> jaguar007
--> Eric Stromberg
--> Jim
--> Mr. Blofeld
--> DaveBond21
--> 00Twelve
--> quantumofsolace
--> john.steed
--> DR76
--> Orion
--> byline
--> adwjr
--> PrinceKamahlKhan

Why can't you just...vote. I just don't get it. It's up to you off course and you've already indicated that you don't want to vote. But why posting in here then....Just wanting to sound dispassionate and lacklustre?

I did a great deal in organizing this event, suffice it to say. But on the MI6-forums it's always a huge success.

Perhaps you can explain me while MI6-forummembers vote in larger numbers (43 or more usually) than Commanderbond-forummembers. Is it an age-thing? More younger, less pasionate (Bond music) fans in here?

Anyway, enough said Zorin, I respect your choice.

Sorry Gustav, I have no real interest in voting as you have set up a momumentally lengthy and convoluted voting system that has put me off before I even start. I think you used a similiar structure for something else round here and it got equally scant interest. I applaud your energy and even the notion of a big Bond Song contest. But I really don't see how the data will be any different from any other Bond Song polls out there. I am REALLY not wanting to rain on your parade my friend.

And I am no expert on these things but surely "43 or more" is hardly the exit poll to swing the presidency.

Why don't you vote, Zor? The poor guy only needs six more votes to start tabulating... B)

And you want me to help aide and support this touted mass-tabulation ...? Not with my knees...

Come on B). Since I've posted this topic in this section, I have received 4 more votes :tdown:. Don't be pessimistic, be patient. I want this to be a success, so that in the end certain pessimistic people don't react snobbilly in the results topic (e.g.: "This is useless, isn't representative!"). And usually the negative people are the ones who were not interested in voting.

Anyway, be patient Jimmy ok? I'll make an exciting results topic :tdown:.

I'm sorry, but I really do think this is pointless.

I haven't voted because I don't really see the point in it. Plus, I don't like what you did last time; stretched it out for months, then buggered off for two weeks before revealing the top 3. What is this meant to achieve anyway? It's not like you've got the whole of CBn voting. You've only got, what, 30 votes? It makes one hell of a difference, because the lack of participation, shows that no one cares. The people that do care will probably vote for their favorite song, granted. But will it actually show 'the best' Bond song? As voted for by fans? Like hell it will.

Sjee man.....dude. This is about judging SONGS. In an objective way. It's not about voting for your favourite only...it's about coming up with an entire TOP 10. By doing that, forummembers are FORCED to recap all the songs and make their own set of objective judgements.

Compared to just a poll, where someone only need to 'click' on just one song, this competition is a bit harder. I think the real reason that not a lot of people are voting in this, is because they are more lazy and lacklustre about Bond songs. Apparently, the 25 people who have voted in this, show some more dedication concerning Bond music.

And off course you feel lacklustre, even if the results are coming in, because you haven't VOTED. Can you imagine that people who have participated, want to see what the final results will be? And from experience I know, by keeping the actual placings of the songs secret, the results topic becomes a bit tense and excited.

Now about me not frequently updating the results topic about Best Bond films on the Commanderbond-forums...the reason is quite simple: I am posting more often on the MI6-forums. Also the sheer lacklustre and negative reactions from people who just wanted me to bugger off, got ME buggered off.

So I suggest you something: EITHER you participate and you'll keep the fun alive for all the lads who have voted, OR you don't participate and stop posting your nonsense! Also this forum is for everyone......even for me as a passionate Bond fan who loves to go deep into this matter. If it irritates you...then YOU should bugger off.

Good heavens, I DO miss the MI6-forums. In there passion and fun can go hand in hand without being criticized B)

Indeed, I had to really reach when coming up with my list of ten. I just really listed my favorite two and put them near the top and just made up the rest of the list with Bond songs I wouldnt mind listening to outside of the context of the films.

Plus (and I can't remember anymore, because GG is stretching this out) I think I put AWTD as my number one just because of that thread he created a while back. But just to show I didnt do it to be completely spiteful, I do enjoy the song.

I'm not sure that by writing all that you're going to garner any more interest in your game. And that wasn't the reason I voted, sorry.

By doing that, forummembers are FORCED to recap all the songs and make their own set of objective judgements.

I'm afraid that it doesn't sound like fun any more.

It'll be of passing interest to see the results but I'm not sure that anyone will consider it definitive or representative, having voted or not. Nice game, but I fear you may be disappointed if you've set your expectation as anything more than some anonymous usernames spending some time on an internet forum. You may also be disappointed that you haven't been able to FORCE people to do things.

Why....do I get all these negative reactions....I just don't get it. It's not that I AM forcing people. It's the format of this competition, that forces forummembers to judge all 24 songs and make a top 10 of it B) .

Tell me why everyone in the MI6-forums likes this competition, while at the same times some stubburn forummembers in here...like to rip this game off as pure utter nonsense.

Don't look at me Jim. And I'm not talking about you, but about other people who like to...condemn this competition.

Anyway.....it's ridiculous how the atmosphere can change in here. I hope to get back on topic now...

I'm sorry, but I really do think this is pointless.

But will it actually show 'the best' Bond song? As voted for by fans? Like hell it will.

You didn't award AWTD 12 points. Well, that's one secret I want to share. Anyway, if some 'revenge' was slipping in your top 10 ballot, then you didn't vote very objectively. My aim to create this topic was purely positive....Sadly, some others like bring some negativity into it.

About the representativeness of this topic. Well, call all 25 voters so far a jury; a jury that wants to judge all 24 songs in an objective way.

PS: When is the MI6-forums up and running again... :tdown:

Oh that's right, I remember what one I put as my number 1. No, I did vote objectively, it's just I really don't think in terms of lists...well I do, but I usually limit myself to the top five. I promise you my top five is purely real. After that I did put songs in there that I would listen to outside of Bond.

Speaking of that, if you wanted better results you probably should have limited it to top five, because that is how most people think around here (believe me, I've been a member of this forum for quite some time).
