What is it with Daniel Craig's Bond and stationary?

In Quantum of Solace he needs Agent Fields' help to find the stationary in the hotel and after watching the end of Casino Royale yesterday I noticed that the email that he had sent prior to his resignation was a request for more stationary.

Why does he need so much?

Like Basildon Bond, he wants letters after his name. B)

He has to write all those letters of apology :

"Dear Nambutu Embassy, Sorry I stormed in the other day, beat some people up, killed a prisoner and blew up a gas tank. Was having a bad day. Yours - Jimbo"

Dear Miami International Airport...
Dear Hotel Splendide...
Dear Venice tourism board...

etc etc.

Maybe Bond didn't want to leave Venice, hence his email to M headed "stationary request" ;-)

The average person wouldn't pause the movie to see the emails in his inbox. Maybe it's an inside joke or an easter egg for those who do pause the movie. If not, it's just some strange coincidence. B)

James Bond is writing some book called "Birds of the West Indies" one page at a time. Obviously.

I always thought that maybe the "stationery" was MI6 lingo for weapons or gadgets.

I paused it too.

One of Bond's emails comes from a David Hicks - who at the time was a convicted Australian terrorist!

If he was swayed by his emails, I'm sure Craig's Bond would have busted him out of Guantanamo, given his Nambutu Embassy antics.

That is an interesting twist!

The term 'average person' really has nothing to do with any of us. B)
