It was officially rejected after all?
As officially as Alice Cooper's "The Man with the Golden Gun" - meaning it was never ever considered and is just a nice vanity project in the artist's resume.

Officially? As in no-one got back to the submission? I would imagine this one was not even on the "listen" pile. The decision makers would have enough to plough through from established and named artists.Good song. Better than AWTD, but far away of No Good About Goodbye. It was officially rejected after all?
Definitely a vanity project from a not very good singer and even worse production team. As I have said before - if something sounds "Bondian" it has missed the point.

Still, she seems to have gotten some decent mileage from this "rejected" song, so fair play to her.

IIRC this was first released on Youtube quite some time after QOS's release. The whole 'rejected' thing was just their USP. It wasn't even completed, let alone entered or considered.

I don't know where you got your info from The Shark, and please don't think I am contradicting what you say. Having said that, at the end of this video their is a statement by the producers of this song that, if not true, I find very misleading.
Of course, I still think it is a fine theme and Eva Almer is simply fantastic!

It is misleading, deliberately on their behalf. It's just a clever to ploy to give their song more credibility, and an excuse for fans to slam EON/Sony for 'choosing' AWTD over this. That's patently false. Not only was this song never considered, but Jack White/Alicia's song was never judged or previewed either. They only choose the artists for the collaboration, not the end product.

LS does not know for a fact that this song was never in the hands of EON, but in this case he is probably correct. Just because the video did not appear on the interwebs until January 09, does not mean the song was not recorded before they put it online. My guess (as others have stated previously) is that it may have been recorded, possibly sent to EON (maybe even through an agent) and the response was (if any) that is not the way EON hires and it was rejected without even being listened to (that is the same thing that would happen if someone sent EON a script). EON probably hired White and Keys even before the song was written.

It's no more likely to have been sent to EON than these proposed songs for QOS:
