MUSE do nothing for me;
Of course they dont, they actually play more than 3 chords per song

So to summarize the thread so far, a band wouldn't mind doing a Bond song. Did I miss anything?
I was wondering if I missed anything either. Hopefully the tabloids don't ask every major artist out there if they'd like to a Bond theme, because the forum might only consist of "[insert band name here] wants to do Bond theme" threads.
As for Muse, I can't say that I'm excited about it at all. It'd be a lot better than a U2 title track, but I'd rather EON go with a different artist for Bond 23.

That's right, I only like dumb 3 chord rock n roll.....

I didnt say it was dumb. A lot of bands make it big with three chord progression. There's certainly nothing wrong with it, it's just not my thing.
Well, whether it's YOUR thing or not is irrelevant; you were suggesting that was all 'I' like....which, given that you're basing that off a couple of music posts i've made here is rather presumptious and based on my 4000+ CD collection and my 1000+ concert history would probably prove to be incorrect.
In a previous post you suggested you had "grown out of" 3 chord rock n roll, thereby suggesting it was somehow beneath you; The fact that you assume my disliking of Muse is because their music is too 'complex' for me is really quite insulting.
If you would like to discuss music theory in any length, please let me know, but in future you might want to refrain from suggesting that your tastes are somehow more cultured than mine.

You don't like Muse, that's fine. Care to provide any reasons?

'Certainly some of our music fits with the James Bond vibe...'
Muse suggest they would be interested in performing the title track for BOND 23....

And this is what Muse suggest was as near to that Bond sound from their previous work (personally I think Queen might want their song back...oh, imagine that - Freddie Mercury doing a Bond song?!)
And so it begins...
Dream on
Anyhow, in lieu of Freddie, i think Muse could do a fine job. The new album is superb. As you say, it borrows heavily from Queen - not only that but they also use the line 'There can be only one' several times in the title track - that being the tag line of feature length Queen promo Highlander.
However, many bands have stolen from Queen, but i think they'd approve of Muse, who are carrying the flame, rather than stealing.

However there's one song on the album that I love, which is their lead single - Uprising. Which could work as a Bond theme.
Apart from that the album's a definite meh from me.

If you're going to steal, steal from the best, like these guys. And Queen's Brian May is apparently a fan of Muse.
I have to say Uprising is the catchiest single I've heard in God-knows-how-long. Is The Resistance worth buying in its entirety?

Don't wanna recommend it without really knowing you, but personally, yep, i ithink it's worth the sterling.
Uprising is a very strong tune - kinda mix between Blondie's 'Call Me' and the Dr Who theme, but with a pretty obvious and rousing anti-globalization lyric and vibe. Guess the guys must love their conspiracy websites.
The whole album seems to be on the same message, particularly the title song (not least for it's pointed title), which gives the whole record a cohesion that's quite ambitious and stirring.
In the age of throw away singles that are made to sell to Ad companies, It's refreshing to hear an album with scope and narrative; that wants to tell a story and has a desire to be epic. Last record that comes to mind working this well was 'A Grand Dont Come For Free' by The Streets.
I can certainly see how such ambitions can be interpreted at pretentious, but i guess it all depends on whether you buy the message their selling and whether the way they sell it suits your tastes. This definitely suits me!

And I generally like epic rock music (GOOD epic rock music, that is!). Loved Muse's last album, Black Holes and Revelations, which should be enough reason to get The Resistance, thinking of it.

But surely if it sounds "Craig-era like" then we have already heard it and shouldn't expect to hear a repeat of that sound in a future Bond? I know I have - it's Chris Cornell lite for starters. This is definity the most Bondian song and most Craig-era like,
