She is watching some western on tv when Crest talks to her about how much he did to rescue Sanchez. Anyone knows what film that might be? I love the music.

I want to say it's an MGM John Wayne film that was rescored for LTK. The music is original.

Good question. I've wondered that a few times. Hopefully somebody knows.

I think John Glen mentions the western in his autobiography. I'll have to check it out as I'm not sure. Talisa looks great in that scene, BTW.

Nope. They're watching Prof. Joe Butcher on TV. Same movie B)

I was going to say that. Beat me to it. Not to mention Tim watches the news in that deleted scene.

Blofeld and Bond watch TV in YOLT- the last program he's likely to see.

Ah, of course!

BUT...any TV watching in any Bond film beside LTK? Think we have the makings of a good trivia question.

EDIT: Oh, YOLT. I didn't see that. Guess it isn't such a good trivia question after all.

None other than LTK come to mind. Bond has a nice old school TV in his flat in Dr No. He probably didn't have much time to watch Have Gun Will travel or The Andy Griffith Show back then. Maybe he would have watched The Saint

Bingo!

The pipeline supervisor in TLD is about to watch a football match when he's... erm... taken care of by Rosika Miklos.

"Time for a... station.... break." - the one and only time a British character has ever used such a phrase. Damn Feirstein.

Don't forget in the deleted scenes when Bond himself is in his hotel room drinking watching Sanchez on a news program.

On the subject of television... Shall we count previously recorded material? Bond takes some time to watch a television news clip on the computer during The World is Not Enough. The footage is part of the MI6 file on Elektra King. ("The Elektra King kidnapping is over.")

I love GI! Especially the episode where Gilligan dreams he's agent 014("twice as smart as 007"). But the more important question would be this: would Bond prefer Mary Ann or Ginger?

to answer the original question...or atleast half of it, I don't know about the footage on the TV screen but the audio (the music and sound effects) of the movie were especially made for LTK as they could not licence the actual audio for what ever movie she is watching!
John Glen's autobiography does indeed describe why they had to do it and who created the new "licence free" audio...it was a crew member's son I believe.

That's why it sounds kind of generic western sound to it.

And when Bond goes back to his suite for Paris there's the tape with the news that Dr. Kauffman put in the player!

BTW, the western is, according to John Glen, RED RIVER, though with different music added.

In YOLT, Tiger Tanaka has a TV in his car, and he and Bond watch live footage of the villains' car being dropped into the ocean.

Also, is the machine-gun toting old lady in Goldfinger watching TV when she has to get up to open the gate?
