Okay, before we start i'm only posting this because it made me smile, and so not gonna happen.

In the latest issue of Film Review in the U.K. there is a small article that states that Tom Hanks would "love to still play if given the opportunity", and "would do anything to become the Bond".

Okay there you go.

What do you think?

I'd be very amused indeed if Hanks really thinks he has a genuine chance....

Dustin Hoffman said he'd really like to be Bond too. Isn't it funny that acclaimed, Oscar-winning actors would do anything to play our favorite pulp fiction secret agent? The world is truly not enough.

Hoffman too? What next, Robin Williams announces his dreams of playing 007?

I guess even the most "successful" of us still fantasise about doing things we know we'll never get a shot at. Which is probably the most important reason why the Bond series has endured all these years.

Are you damning with faint praise...or really insulting them both?

For what it is worth...Tom Hanks would make a great Felix Leiter...and if he were English, I would give him a go at screentesting for Bond, but not right now....Sorry Tom.

As for you MBE....hey...if he works out, Tom could look good in those bedroom scenes.

On the same planet where Wesley Snipes has Kung Fu movies, Roger Moore is a martial arts sensai, Pierce Brosnan married my mother, and Tom Hanks would make a great James Bond.

How's about that?

Okay, first of all I said Snipes has Kung Fu moves, not movies. Second of all Blade starring Wesley Snipes is one of the best Kung Fu movies I have ever seen and I've seen alot of Kung Fu movies.

So I guess that means you want Mr. Hanks to take your step-father's job.

I don't think. I know.

Wesley Snipes is a fifth degree Kung Fu black belt and served as martial arts choreographer for the movie Blade.

Hey all:

Mister Asterix has informed me my private mail and here on the board, that Wesley Snipes has a lot more skill than I originally thought he had.

I now amend myself...Wesley Snipes has Kung Fu moves.

Now...allow me to say this:

On a planet where Pierce Brosnan married my mother and Anna Nicole Smith can act, Tom Hanks would make a great James Bond.

Tom actually even says the famous line in 1984's Bachelor Party, which is one of his best movies right up there alongside Castaway and Road to Perdition. I was so mad they didn't show it at his Lifetime Achievement Award.

At least I'm not the only one that's watched that show. :)

That show is the one show that has amused me, scared me (those people EXIST?), and repulsed me in one half hour.

Back to the topic: one word, no.

Just saw a bit of Bachelor Party on FX, and Tom Hanks actually says the immortal line, "Bond...James Bond," and I can't help it. I laugh so hard every time I see it.

I could see if playing Bond, but I don't think it would be right. He's a good actor and everything, but I'd rather see him in war movies then Bond.

Tom Hanks as Bond. Meg Ryan as the Bond girl.
