Just fished reading your book.
Terrific stuff better than Andy McNab
Thanks Harry, that's an author I never considered, but I can see where you are coming from. Glad you liked it.
I'm taking a time out for a month or so, but I will be Back with more Bond in the New Year.

I really liked the feel for chapter 17
I too could smell the girl.
I read a lot of Andy McNab and Chris Ryan
gret gritty storylines but Bond is my favourite in films too

I too am particularly in love with Veritta Balen...
I thought chapter 17 was particularly good, possibly the best in the whole novel and it took me ages to get the atmosphere and the dialogue right.
In your communique you mentioned the jungle scenes and those also took several re-writes; it was a struggle to create something new for chapters 21 - 23 when I had already explored the Amazon in 1 - 3, none the less I am glad you liked the world I created.
And yes, I also prefer Bond to be the "main man" and somewhat "gadgetless." One man against all odds is generally how the Fleming novels pan out, certainly by their denoument. He gets some help, but is never swamped by any body else. I feel this helps us to identify with Bond and his character and that is what I tried to create.
Hope I succeeded!

Interesting quote you used there. I'd completely forgotten about that line! It is rather good....
Action isn't my forte (as you probably gathered) I do prefer the character interaction.
I personally think I got Veritta Balan 100% right, the Fleming blend of spoiled innocence and sexual availability. She's probably the best character in the novel.

News Flash!!!
Download surge for The Humming Bird
Author puzzled by sudden increase in hits for his novel!
And it wasn't him!
Recent figures show an increase in views of The Humming Bird, the James Bond FanFic novel posted by chrisno1 in late 2009.
The author thanked his readers with the following words:
"I thought it was slipping out of people's minds. There is a lot of good writing on CBN FanFic, guys like Fawkes, Greene Planet & Volante. It's hard to keep up. I'm just pleased fans are reading my contribution and enjoying it as much as I enjoyed creating it. Quite why the views leapt by +30 the last two days I can't tell. But it isn't me! I'm too busy working on my next opus."
You can read about the author's future work on the following link:

Am enjoying reading The Humming Bird. Am finding it tougher going than I found The Steel Wolf, but it's paying off as I proceed through the story.

A full review will follow soon but until then, please let me start by saying chrisno1 that you ought to be bloody proud of yourself! First rate in my book not to mention full on where the action and suspense is concerned.
