We've seen what Ernst Stavro Blofeld looks like in the movies, but what does he look like in the novels? I have heard that in the novels he is a chameleon-type character, but what does he physically look like when he's not disguised? What does his true unaltered appearance look like?

Lengthy physical description of him in Thunderball. Read Thunderball.

There are quite a few different drawings of Bond Baddies in 'Ian Fleming's James Bond: Annotations and Chronologies for Ian Fleming's Bond Stories'

Not sure how Blofeld measures up against the description Jim mentioned, so will have a check and get back to you.

I think the page Jim refers to in Thunderball is page 60.

There is a picture by George Almond which is quite spot on. Basically Blofeld didnt look that strange, apart from the missing ear lobs. I would scan it in and show you but copyright and all that.

I think since the FYEO incident, he looks like a spot of cigar ash.

So we now have the answer. Quite normal looking but just didnt have any ear lobs and later he looked like a spot of cigar ash.

This is what I pulled off Wiki, isn't much of an in depth analysis, alas but anyway..

"Blofeld is described physically as a massive man, once a bodybuilder but having gone to fat. He has violet-scented breath from chewing capsules."

Hope this helps.

Here is a below link to the book I was gobbing off about. See page 355 for Mr Blofeld drawing.

Still don't quite get why no-one's looking at the books. They're not obscure.

Twenty stone, followed by syphilis, followed by samaurai.

Once knew a girl like that.

Given that there's not much book reading going on, this would hardly matter, would it?

Thunderball's a book.

He definitely does not look like the way I imagined him in my head! He kinda reminds me of... Wayne Newton!

To make it more specific, it's Thunderball, Chapter Five; OHMSS, Chapter Eleven; and YOLT, Chapter Eighteen.

If, by some chance, you find yourself straying beyond these limited chapters and reading the books through, I can promise that you won't regret it.

In that one Dan Lighter linked to

TB Blofeld - pg 288 (reminds me a bit of Gert Frobe fused with Robbie Coltrane, tbh)
OHMSS Blofeld - pg 355 (no idea who to compare him to here)
And I'm afraid there isn't a sketch for ca. YOLT

Clicking "view all" gives you fast access to the pages

Found the ca. YOLT sketch; if you type Dr. Shatterhand into the search function, the sketch is the first option available, and I daresay, it looks uncannily like Charles Gray... B)

Actually, Charles Gray after he became a hippie and lost a tooth playing hockey.
