I think Lamont actually retired after CR so its unlikely he'd return. I liked Armstrong's stuff in past Bond films, but i prefer Bradley's work as i think it fits with Craig's acting style more than Armstrong's would. Very much agree with getting Kleinman back though, i loved his title sequences, and although i dont think MK2's was terrible, it wasnt as good as the ones Kleinman made.Should return necessarily: Peter Lamont and Vic Armstrong. It will be good, if Martin Campbell (and his crew, such as Phil Meheux) will return too.

A "halfway decent movie (CR)" that most of the critics and audiences- including Bond fans- acclaimed as one of the best films from the EON series... but of course, you're completely entitled to your own view. Personally, I would be completely satisfied with the return of CR's crew.Should return necessarily: Peter Lamont and Vic Armstrong. It will be good, if Martin Campbell (and his crew, such as Phil Meheux) will return too.

Actually, I don't think I would want any of these people to return with the exception of Daniel Kleinman. Vic Armstrong's action sequences were imho never appropriate for a Bond movie. All these ridiculous explosions not linked by any kind of narrative structure were one of the major downsides of the Brosnan movies. And Campbell and Meheux, well, if they are given an amazing script, they can make a halfway decent movie (CR)
In the other hand, I agree with your opinion on Vic Armstrong's work for the Brosnan era.

No, mate; you're incredibly wrong. He retired, and please don't blame it on Forster! Everybody blames everything on Forster half the time!I don't think Peter Lamont has retired, and if he did, it was because he was forced to retire because of Forster.

Directors are like quarterbacks. They get all the praise when the team wins and they get all the blame when the team loses.

Peter Lamont is 80 this year. I hope for his and his family's sake that he has finally retired.

Probably because he directed a movie that created a lot of negativity upon release. I blame Lee Tamahori for Die Another Day. He's the director, he's in charge, he should've fixed everything.

Yes, Tamahori's problem was that he kept adding silly things. I read that Gustav Graves' Icarus contraption was initially going to remain a laptop but then Tamahori had the bright idea to make it a full Robocop suit.

Tamhori was also trying to be the bond girl at the same time but we won't get into that

For example., Tanner (Rory Kinnear) and Tim Piggott-Smith as the Secretary of State?

Would anyone like to see certain cast members return in Bond 23?
For example., Tanner (Rory Kinnear) and Tim Piggott-Smith as the Secretary of State?
I liked Tim Piggott-Smith, very good casting, but Rory Kinnear was terrible as Tanner. Basically M's castrated lapdog, with a personality by-pass.
No senae that he was good friends with Bond and went out for drinks with him after work.

I agree with you there. I liked Piggott-Smith. It was a nice scene with M (quite old-fashioned) and well directed by Forster. Tanner was too bland, like Mitchell and Villiers and the rest. But maybe Bond 23 would show Bond and Tanner becoming drinking buddies.

So would I. The Casino Royale crew did a fantastic job.Personally, I would be completely satisfied with the return of CR's crew.
Tim Piggott-Smith was fine as the Secretary of State, but I would most like to see Bill Tanner return whether it be by Rory Kinnear or someone else. (And I agree that Kinnear's Tanner in QOS never seemed to be best buds with Bond, which should change in the future, I hope.) I like the Tanner character in the books and want him in the film series. But unfortunately, he's just never been cast all that well. Easily the best of the bunch is Michael Kitchen.Would anyone like to see certain cast members return in Bond 23?

What makes you think Tanner could return? For all we know they could get Villiers back.
I hated Villiers. I cheered when it was announced he wouldn't be returning. Surely Moneypenny is 100 times better than the wimpy Villiers.
