I love the way Lee says what he's thinking and then says what he's thinking about what he just said he was thinking. The man seems to have no inner monologue.
I could look it up as easily as asking here, but I won't. By any miracle does Lee join the commentary tracks on the TMWTGG DVD?

Quite an enjoyable interview. He was the best part of TMWTGG imo.

If you want to get Lee going in an interview you only have to mention The Wicker Man, British Lion and motorway construction.

LOL;
and rightly so....
TWM is a wonderful piece of cinema, even as it is and Lee is fantastic in it.

He was quite vocal in his disappointment that the portions involving Saruman were cut from the theatrical version of RETURN OF THE KING.

I can't blame him. Having your character completely expunged from a film has to be a pretty bitter blow to any actor.
Although it made for a nice addition when the Special Edition came out.

What's funny, he probably was more concerned with the fate of the character than with his own scenes being cut out of a movie. Lee is so devoted to Tolkien's trilogy, he admittedly still reads through it every year. He's as much an expert on the story as anyone.
