Another one who's gone way too soon.
This is sad.Especially for sports fans.
*Sorry for the title mix up*
B)

Former NFL quarterback Steve McNair has been shot and killed.

Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron confirmed that police were called to a residence and found McNair and a woman shot to death inside. Aaron said authorities don’t yet know the circumstances of the shooting.

“I don’t have any answers for you now as to what’s happened, who’s responsible,” he said.

Aaron said police have tentatively identified the woman but did not release her name.

McNair played 13 seasons in the NFL and led the Titans within a yard of forcing overtime in the 2000 Super Bowl. The former third overall draft pick also played for the Baltimore Ravens before retiring after the 2007 season.

“He was one of the finest players to play for our organization and one of the most beloved players by our fans,” Titans owner Bud Adams said in a statement. “He played with unquestioned heart and leadership and led us to places that we had never reached, including our only Super Bowl.”

I saw this earlier today. Very, very sad. B)

McNair was one of the toughest quarterbacks (or players, for that matter) that I've ever seen, and I always greatly respected the way that he played the game. He will be greatly missed.

Totally shocked about this sad news... B) McNair was an awesome player and I remember rooting hard for him, Eddie George and the Titans in Super Bowl XXXIV.. What a horrible way to lose one's life.. I do hope the Nashville police catch the murderer as quickly as possible..

You'd hope not; I don't recall McNair having a rep as either a druggie or a person who hung out with druggies.

I would doubt that this was the case with McNair. From all accounts, he seemed like a real stand-up guy. I don't recall ever hearing him involved in any kind of scandle (even a minor one) during his career, and I always got the impression that he was very highly regarded by his fellow players in the league. I would be very surprised if anything like that turned out to be the case.

Sorry the title seems like he killed a state.
The word in didn't paste for some reason.

As a big fan of sports all i can say is R.I.P
Steve was one of the toughest players in the NFL.
Heaven must have been running low on angels with all the people leaving us so suddenly.

I was shocked when I heard this yesterday. To me, McNair was one of the toughest players in the NFL at the time he played, and well, ever. You heard he was hurt, didn't practice but would show up on gameday and gut it out. There is a lot of talk about today's players not having what it took to play in the 60's and 70's, but Steve McNair sure could have. When I coached kids, and they didn't want to go on, I reminded them that if Steve McNair could play through it, so could they. Deepest regrets to his family and friends, and to his former teammates and coaches.

"Former NFL quarterback Steve McNair's shooting death was a homicide, police said Sunday, but authorities stopped short of saying it was a murder-suicide committed by the 20-year-old girlfriend found dead by his side."

I remember watching the highlights of his exploits when he was in college, putting up huge numbers against relatively weak opposition (Division I - AA).

Looks like he was B)ing around on his wife and he tried calling it off with the young  bunny...but the relatively young  bunny went bonkers.

Hence, murder-suicide.

Moral of the story?

Don't :) around on your wife...and if you choose to do so, choose someone who you won't :) up emotionally too.

He owned the gridiron in his junior and senior year in second tier college ball but was not the be-all-end-all in the National Football League. There have been other quarterbacks of reasonable note over the past decade too...

You, however, do have to admire him for digging deep when injured. No doubt, that.

1 extra yard in the Super Bowl would've vaulted him into greatness. Most of that final drive was due to McNair's grit and determination.

I'm saddest for his 4 sons. This is a sordid situation to be sure.

His toughness on the field & all the energy he put out probably led him to him retiring a few years before he should have. All the injuries he took defintely sped up his retirement.

If she didn't kill him, who did? The professor with the candlestick in the kitchen? The one-armed fugitive? Maybe the same people who killed OJ's ex-wife?

Bond, James Bond?

The bitch is dead.

Hey, isn't that what Bond, James Bond said once?
