Back in the mid 90's J Peterman had I a safari jacket.

Rather like this

but mine was a bit less expensive.

I'm sure I don't look as good as Sir Roger in it. Oddly guys tried to make fun, but the ladies dug it. I guess I had my priorities in order B)

In which scenes and in which movie did Moore wear a safari jacket? Frankly, it looks as if it's something to be worn in the tropics or something.

Read the first post in this thread; I mention the films. B)

Another Rog style choice I recently noticed is his wearing of a gold medallion necklace. He wears it in The Persuaders! and he also has the same one on in Crossplot. It was obviously something he wore all the time and it's interesting to see that he kept it through the years. Does anyone know the origin of that piece of jewelry? Somehow I won't be surprised if someone knows the answer.

If one looks closely at the credits of THE PERSUADERS, you can see that Roger Moore's wardrobe was designedby...Roger Moore!

A sharp eyed viewer asked this question of Sir Roger here:

Roger's Persuaders wardrobe gets a "thumbs down" from many, but outside of the first episode, "Overture" (with its Neo-Edwardian kerchiefs, tight aqua and orange shirts, white belts and shoes...) the majority of his suits are quite nice. Tasteful ties, double-breasted suits which wouldn't be out of place today.

I did. I also came across this photo of Moore in "OCTOPUSSY" - Moore in "OCTOPUSSY"

What's the big deal? He wore the outfit in India.

He wore this in "MOONRAKER":

Indeed, that's about the only time you can definitely pinpoint him in the 1970s, by style anyway. Bell bottom tuxedo pants do not count, because frankly, I would wear a tuxedo with bell bottom pants if I had the money for it.

I think his checkered jacket from TMWTGG is pretty clearly from the more garish end of 70s fashion.

The rest of it -- like the loud plaid suit near the end of TMWTGG -- are unfortunate but a product of the times, and would likely have been forced onto any lead actor, as witness Connery's pink "clown tie" in DAF.

I have always been shocked by how much chatter is heaped upon Connery's pink tie. I do not find it offensive in the least. In fact, I never once even considered it until it was brought up in these forums. I think it is stylish and of the period. And if given any serious consideration - I find it ironic given that Bond has a license to kill. It works for me.

There's nothing wrong with Sean Connery wearing a pink tie in Diamonds Are Forever. The problem is that the tie is so darn short. It needs to be about six inches longer.

I also like Rog's "Scaramanga outfit" in TMWTGG. Very nice for the warm climate and clothes I actually own, in a similar fashion--minus the rather large collar.

The suit he wears in the Egypt part of TSWLM (not the tux) is his FRWL Connery suit, he is in the zone.

What are your favorite/not-so favorite style choices in Roger's Bond tenure?

P.S. I don't include the clown outfit in this--somehow, I felt the need to state this...

Very original tread !
I like the "reversing" military jacket in the open sequence of Octopussy and his dark-blue suit with black tie, very classic, still in Octopussy.
