It's a surprise and a bit odd, really. Also, a bit of a disappointment: I thought that when James Bond 007 finished off there'd be fireworks or explosions or something- not just a gasp like a dying frog and a mild collapse. We waited 40 years for that?
LMAO!

um, there have been other sex scenes in other Bond films. Maybe not quite as obvious, but they were there. While not EON, the sex in NSNA is just about as graphic. I'm pretty sure Bond and Holly were not playing Monopoly while floating around on the space shuttle. In TND I guess Bond was just brushing up on his Danish.
But Little James wasn't penetrating foreign territory in those scenes.

You're right there. I was shocked when I first saw it, now I just try and block it out! Pierce Brosnan yelping in pleasure (in his own morphed way) *shudder*

quite surprised that a sex scene could be so unsexy...
Agreed. Just shows how much effort pørn stars have to put into things, eh?

Desperately unsexy. He could have still been wearing a string vest and his socks. And as for the handy kiwi fruit and fruit knife....c'mon! Makes it look like it was over in 10 seconds.

Definitely Bond just wanting to get his rocks off.
Ms. Jinx didn't seem to mind, either.

And Jinx was the one who left in the morning.
Not Bond.
Unsettling...
Just like Magda in Octopussy.

Just like Magda in Octopussy.
And Tracy in OHMSS. In fact I always thought that was a small homage to OHMSS, Bond waking up to find the girl gone.

That's not very Bondish, is it?

It must have been Tamahoris idea. You can imagine him pitching it "the sex scenes need to be more raw. We wanna see James Bond screw the girl. We've never seen that. Its cutting edge"
But just like everything else "cutting edge" that Tamahori brought to DAD it is an EPIC FAIL.
Quite frankly, I dont want to see James Bonds

It was at that point I knew that the film was speeding to hell in a Q Branch handbasket and nothing but nothing was going to put the brakes on.

In a movies where the good scenes are so few that you can count them on one hand - I am really surprised this piece of offal doesnt get more flack.

Quite frankly, I dont want to see James Bondsface. Pierce Brosnan was bad enouhg but can you imagine if we had it in every Roger Moore film. The whole thing was an embarassment.

It has to be fastest "sex" scene this side of Halloween. I really didn't dig the Papaya retread of the ice from TWINE either.
Typical of Tamahori's out of touch directorial "flash", I really hate the "Top Gun" style blue lighting and flapping window silk. Why didn't they just bung "Take My Breath Away" onto the soundtrack while they were at it? Talk about twenty years out of touch... Maybe this was yet another unsuccessful attempt by the filmmakers to bring the Tony Scott essence to Bond 20?
There's a reason you don't mess with something forty years old.
