I hope to god, Quantum of Solace was P&W's last.
Actually Purvis and Wade have vastly improved since Die Another Day....but that could be due to the involvement of Paul Haggis!! As long as Haggis returns, I have no problem with them returning..

Anything is possible but I think because there is no big announcemnt it is the same crew as last time or Haggis solo.

*Not that I think there's much wrong with DAD. It kept a lot of people in work, made a healthy return for its investors and provided a couple of hours of undemanding entertainment for a general audience. Not much wrong with that in my book.

...or Haggis solo.
I loved him in Star Wars.

The stick P&W get on here makes me laugh. To listen to some people, one would think they were solely responsible for DAD*, but had nothing to do with CR.

What I like about Purvis and wade is they genuinly try and include SOME fleming in their work I'm not sure what their QOS would of looked like or what remained. Should be interesting what bond 23 will be about if the 3 of them are writing together.

It's so true. Few have an accurate understanding of the roles played by scriptwriters, directors, and editors in the film industry or their relationship to one another. Comparing Purvis and Wade's work on, say, Die Another Day and Casino Royale can be revealing in this regard.

I loved him in Star Wars.
I preferred his Irish cousin, Potato Solo.

I'd prefer a brand new team of writers to come in and give us a different perspective on the Bond character.
I'd be down with that as long as they don't totally rape the character.

CR was so much better because they (& Paul Haggis) had a decent novel to work from. IMO the best bits of CR are the bits that come directly from the novel.
It was no suprise that QOS suffered in conparison. I think Haggis helped immeasurably here, but the script still wasn't a patch on CR.
I read in the Observer (where do they get this info from?) that Haggis IS "LIKELY TO FEATURE AS SCRIPT WRITER" Bond23, but his current project is to write and direct Charlize Theron in an American remake of Anything For Her (Pour Elle).
(n.b. Why do Amereican's have to remake foreign films? Can't they just watch the originals? I hope to god they don't try to remake something as brilliant as The Lives of Others.)
Haggis isn't filming until the summer, so he won't be doing anything with Bond until at least Spring 2010.
Having written all this it sounds like a whole lot of speculation rather than rumour. Even MGW and BB have confirmed nothing except Bond 23 will star Daniel Craig.

Something lighter in tone, but not betraying the Bond character as presented in Craig's first two films.

I want to see Craig utter lines like: " Speak now or forever hold your peace."
