The owner of the Norwegian website jamesbond.no, John Berge, had a brief chat with MGW at BFI last weekend, where, among other things, the following is said:
Interviewer: But when will the film be released, will we have to wait until 2011?
Wilson: Yes, I can confirm that. We need more time and don't want to stress things.
I don't want to translate the entire interview, since it's not my work, but Wilson also dissapointingly says there is likely no more Fleming material they can use, since they have "already used most from that source".

it could be summer 2011 why are we all assuming fall 2011?No big deal. 2009 is half over, 2010 will go buy in a flash. And by Jan 2011 we'll be into filming, details. It's one year, really.

the title is beyond the ice
Amy winhouse and the killers will do a duet
and there wil not only be a gay love scene but a gay musical number with al pachino
Serious though I think we'll get something substantial in the next 2 weeks.

Fine by me. I'd rather have a 2010 release date, but nevermind. I think it's right to seriously plan this on out. I really hope it's summer, though.
I never get why so many big films have to be released during summer. It makes these few months very over-crowded. I hope they'll go for an autumn-release.

That's what I thought of too.

there is also The man with golden gun and a few of the short stories
notably From a view to a kill, For your eyes only (the idea of M asking bond to do a personal favour would be perfect) Octopussy and the hildebrand Rarity are all potantially untapped gold mines for use in a bond film.

More of a shock is that Bond month at the BFI completely passed me by - was planning on catching On Her Majesty’s Secret Service in all its restored glory on the silver screen (anyone know if there are any plans for a wider release or something - please PM me).

Well, they better take the time to craft something worth seeing.2011? Just as I thought. Personally, I think this is great news. I'm glad they're not rushing it. This'll create some real anticipation (outside fandom, I mean) for BOND 23.

The only time they've failed to do so, IMO, was with 1999's TWINE, which of course came two years after TND. For me, a long break between Bonds has always resulted in a very good film (TSWLM, GOLDENEYE, DAD, CR).
Anyway, regardless, it'll seem more worth seeing after three years as opposed to just two.

With any luck Lee Tamahori is already crafting a script with the expert help of Purvis and Wade.

Oh-oh, hope they don't.. but then what would they do for the 50th. Anniversary then?I've just had a thought. What if they decide to push it back to 2012? To tie in with the 50th Anniversary.
I also hope that Daniel Craig keeps looking young..

Well that is the question... (and fit of course) but he's aging ok so far...I just hope he watches his knees carefully.

Dang I won't see the next Bond film until I'm 30.
Me being 30. That's a scary thought.
My seven weeks away from being born son will be two by then.
I'll have to find a babysitter!
But I am glad they're taking their time with this one. I have very high hopes.

Interviewer: We noticed that you mentioned in the press that work with the next film have started.
Wilson: Hehe, yes, and that's everything I can say. We have started, not more.
Interviewer: But when will the film be released, will we have to wait until 2011?
Wilson: Yes, I can confirm that. We need more time and don't want to stress things.
Interviewer: Are you working with a new version of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang?
Wilson: It is a project we evaluate, that's right.
Interviewer: Do you have any ideas? Is there more to find in Fleming?
Wilson: No. We have almost used everything from that source.
Interviewer: Today’s show of The Living Daylights was not from a digital copy. Aren't all of them digitally restored?
Wilson: Most of them are, but not all. This one is unfortunately not finished.
Interviewer: How often do you watch the movies?
Wilson: Now I'm watching them on DVD. In average, I see all Bondmovies within a 5 year period.
Interviewer: Not on Blu-ray?
Wilson: No, I've not come that far yet.
