Has anyone else spotted this?

It's a paperback edition of Diamonds are Forever using the Fleming centenary hardback artwork. There appear to be some other titles (but not all) available too - From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, The Spy Who Loved Me, The Man With The Golden Gun also released 23 April 2009 and Casino Royale coming on 1 October 2009. Those already released show 6-10 days before shipping - any idea how these slipped out so quietly? I didn't see any announcement about this on CBn.

Also on the hardback front - http://tinyurl.com/qsptzq - I wonder which design this is.

Nice find, zerominus. Strange that it seems to be just a handful of them (and in no real order). I hope it's a mistake - I like the idea that Michael Gillette's artwork was reserved for the single print run of the Centenary Edition hardbacks.

As for the hardback book you linked to, I think Qwerty got to the bottom of those listings - hopefully he'll post here what they were.

Good find indeed, zerominus.

I stumbled across these a few days ago, but like [dark] says, they seem like a mistake to me. I ordered a copy of From Russia, With Love and Goldfinger to find out and have just been waiting to see what exactly arrives in the mail before posting anything up on CBn. B)

As for that hardcover link - I'm still not quite sure. I do remember seeing these listings on Amazon early last year. As you'll see in the following link - http://www.amazon.co...oks-Submit.y=11 - there were two release dates set for these: June and September 2008. However, these never had the option to actually purchase them - that "Not in stock; order now and we'll deliver when available" message was always (and remains) included.

My thinking is that the June listings represent these large print editions that were released right around the same time and also used the centenary artwork.

As for what those September listings could have been (if anything at all--may just be a total mistake on Amazon's part), you got me!

Damn...what's the trick in opening these "tinyurl" thingys?

I always keep getting
Connection Interruption. The document contains no data. The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again.

Got them in the mail today: they're the real deal. Just paperback editions. Odd that these links are just mysteriously popping up on Amazon.

I'm with you Dark, they should have reserved this art solely for the hardcover first edition run. Releasing these paperbacks kind of "dilutes" the value of the hardcovers. I grabbed CR but now I'm in 2 minds about collecting the rest of the hardcovers.
