Is there still footage left of the unused Licence Revoked posters? I'm curious. Anybody have any ideas?

I'd love to see those, too. I tried googling the Licence Revoked Bob Peak posters awhile back to no avail B)

Here's the Bob Peak one.

There were quite a few concept posters for it. One of them was pretty similar to the British poster for Tomorrow Never Dies. And there was a painted one which played up the action scenes, with exploding trucks and the like.

I think there were a few with Lowell, Tim and Soto. Don't think they were Peak posters, though.

20 years later and I still wish they had called it Licence Revoked.

Many thanks for sharing, IndyB007.

The un-used "You're looking at the world's most wanted man" tagline is bland, but I like "Dismissed. Disgraced. Dishonored. Deadly."

There was one I seen years ago back on the old Bondian Mayhem board.

It was really strange, possibly a Czech poster, featured a forest, with buildings in the distance, possibly New York?? it was one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen, and it was definitely Bond related, as there was a big thread on it, gained a lot of interest.

It's no longer going, so I can't go back and check.

This is going to drive me nuts, I fully understand if most doubt me, but I have definitely seen it.

Thanks for the lovely posts. '89 was a superb year and year of defending Bond from Lethal Weapon to Ghostbusters. I wish Cubby invested more on the look fo this movie and gave Dalton a better sense of fashion.

Thanks for the post on this topic! Very interesting stuff.

Did any of the concept posters actually get printed by MGM?

It saddens me to see that all of the posters seen here are better than their final choices.

This one, however...
http://img40.imagesh...ltkconcept4.jpg

...looks like something done to promote GoldenEye. Looks more like Janssen, Scorupco and Brosnan than anything else. Might be a coincidence, off course.

The first picture is a teaser for "Licence Revoked" which doesn't look too impressive, to be honest.

I never saw that concept5, either. But the others and maybe 1 or 2 more were in an superb issue of Cinefantastique magazine. You guys are probably aware of Sally Hibben's "book" on James Bond posters? Even though this was merely a magazine article it really got in depth with the various artists over the years, including Bob McGinnis, Frank McCarthy and Dan Goozee...and, of course, Bob Peak. (I should also note that the hardcover Bond poster book that came out to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the series is also excellent).

What's interesting about those Licence Revoked concept posters is that none of them use the prepared design/logo for the title. It basically looked like a stamp, as if Bond's dossier had "LICENCE REVOKED" stamped on top of the folder in bold red with an outline.

p.s. I forgot to say that I think Hibben's book is worthless.

p.s.2 I remember reading that the producers were particularly cool towards the "Dismissed" poster, saying that Bond would never be "disgraced."

I agree completely. I think that Bond image looks about as much like Timothy Dalton as I do.

Me neither and thanks.

That's what the main poster for Licence To Kill SHOULD have looked like! B) It's great--awesome compared to the lackluster effort we wound up with. It just screams action and excitement. The real one...to put it kindly...doesn't.

Seeing this poster really bums me out. How could EON have come up with this and not used it? I'm baffled and completely disgusted. LTK is my favorite film, but it has one of the two worst posters (Die Another Day). Ugh. Oh what could have been!

Is it just me or does Talisa Soto look like a transexual in that painting? The jawline is very masculine.

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but did anyone ever find the Peak designs on a large scale? I've been looking for a desktop background of the red and black Revoked poster for years.

The first picture is not a teaser but the artwork for the Cannes Film Festival advert for the Carlton Hotel.

This chap has a number of things wrong though, the bottom right image is one of the lobby cards, not a quad.
