A 3 hour run time for this movie isn't bad for cable TV. If it was on Spike, I'm sure they would have it closer to 4 hours. B)

It will be interesting to see how USA handles the editing on the torture scene. And I wonder what they will cut. CR is the longest film of the series and USA shows as many commercials as most other cable stations do.

They are actually really good at minimal editing. Its the sex they cut most of the time.

They just showed a CR/Burn Notice mashup ad on USA, with Bond and Michael Weston "talking" to each other. (The new Burn Notice season debuts after CR on Thursday)

Bond : A bomb is about to off at Miami airport!
Michael Weston : I'm on my way!

Ehh that's about all I can remember, but it was pretty cool.

Oh yeah and it ended with the obligatory Craig-on-the-beach pec shot B)

Holy cow, they are BUTCHERING the movie. I only just tuned in halfway through, but the entire poisoning sequence is completely gone! B)

It just went straight from Bond meeting Felix on the stairs to the final poker hand showdown.

Now I'm going to have to keep watching just to see what else they do...torture scene coming up soon!

cool. I hope to see that mashup.

I will be watching USA tonight, but it will be Burn Notice, not CR.

Here in Canada, Global televised "Casino Royale" on Wednesday, May 20th (I'm pretty sure they showed it twice in the same night) . . . and I could've sworn I saw it on another Canadian cable network as I was channel-flipping that same evening, but maybe it was just another Global channel.

One of those rare times when Canada beats the U.S. to something! B)

I recorded Casino Royale last night to see what would be actually cut out and they did cut the entire poison sequence. They also cut out the rain sequence when Bond is shown for the first time fully recovered from his injuries. I would not complain about the rain sequence cut because it is not an essential scene to get the love story but cutting out the entire poison sequence was a very bad idea. I was expecting USA to cut down Casino Royale because it was shown in a three hour block. Since the maximum amount of run time without commercials in a three hour block is two hours and fifteen minutes. Since Casino Royale's run time without end credits is two hours twenty minutes, then Casino Royale would have to be cut by five minutes to fit into this block. They actually cut out more like seven minutes. If USA had just extended the block by fifteen minutes, then they would have fitted Casino Royale without making any cuts for time. I thought cutting out the poison sequence was terrible, while it was not an essential sequence to the story, it contains the best line in the movie. "That last hand nearly killed me." I thought that they could of cut out the sequence where Bond inquires about Alex Dimitrios because this is assumed because of him watching the security video explains that he is interested in Alex Dimitrios. It is just weird that they put Casino Royale in a three hour block while in July they are playing On Her Majesty's Secret Service in a three and a half hour block. I did'nt notice any cuts for content. Even the torture sequence was not cut down for content. I believe all of the cuts were made in order to fit the movie in a three hour block. I thought it was weird that they showed in a clip in the Casino Royale commercial of the rain sequence even though it was cut out of the movie.

Did USA cut short the restaurant conversation between Bond and Vesper, right before Le Chiffre kidnaps her? Global did, and it was rather jarring, especially if you know the scene as originally shown in the theatre.

Maybe it's at the hospital where Bond and Vesper are recovering? There's rain coming down, and then they barge into a room and make love?

Oh! I see now. The way it was worded, made it look like a really dramatic close up of Bond standing in the middle of the night, clean shaven with no visible scaring. B)

I had no idea this was coming up, but yesterday I was channel surfing (something I do extremely rarely) when I stumbled across the part where Bond has just entered Miami International Airport. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised and watched the entire action sequence, but it cut to commercial after that and I stopped watching. I realized that, for me at least, Casino Royale is one of those Bond movies you can't have constantly interrupted.

Same here. I didn't realize it was going to be televised, and just bumped into it while channel-flipping. It was a nice surprise, but like you, when they cut to commercial -- and also when I saw how they chopped up the restaurant scene -- I couldn't keep watching. Too annoying . . . especially since I have it on DVD and can watch it here at home, uninterrupted and completely intact.
