Nice, but I wonder why they aren't using the green borders otherwise used for thrillers/murder-mysteries.

Ok, so another reprint of books everyone has already. I gotta say, the binding and paper used in Popular Penguin tend to be sub par to say the least. But hey, keep milking that cow guys.

Is this coming solely to Australia? Does anyone know if it'll be coming to the US?

I believe it's just Australia. You can read a bit more about Popular Penguins here.

They're stocked at most booksellers, usually in a pretty prominent place. I imagine their low price and eye-catching covers make them reasonably appealing for buyers.

Nice find, Matt. I can't even imagine how many different editions and printings of Casino Royale are out there now.

Thanks!
It's interesting that they would consider Casino Royale a "classic." Interesting.

Nothing is stopping IFP, but the Flemings are always going to be above and beyond their best seller compared to the continuation novels - hence, no reprints of those.

I'm with ya though. I'd love to one day see one complete set of every Bond novel/novelization/short story collection.

I keep saying it. We need them all reprinted, from Fleming to Faulks (and everything in between, including novelizations like Moonraker, etc.). All with a uniform look to them (I like the silhouettes used in the 80's). Can you imagine the whole collection on the shelf with a uniform design scheme to them? Awesome! I would love it, even if it's on Penguin's cheapo paper and even worse binding they use for their low cost books.

As an aside, Crikey is throwing in a copy of the Popular Penguin edition of From Russia, With Love in their latest subscription deal.

One thing I keep meaning to mention (and always forgetting until now) is that along with these books, related coffee mugs are sold on the display as well. Unfortunately, a Borders staff member did a system search for me and it appears a Casino Royale mug was never made. Not all Popular Penguins got mug shots apparently, and ever though this one was produced I would've preferred a retro version.
