I already have the book, it's unlikely I'll get this re-issue. The new content would have to be something special.

It probably just has QoS added.

I never bought it the first time and I certainly won't pay full price for a reissue. The previous version was one I hoped would drop in price to get such as the Legacy has.

I just hope they update the sections QoS is relevant to and not go the cheap route and just add another section the way they did when updating the other James Bond Encyclopedia series.

Dang, I was excited when I thought it was an updated version of Steven Jay Rubin's book, but now? Not so much. The original Encyclopedia that was put out didnt interest me enough to warrant a purchase, so I doubt I'll pick this one up.

Still, October you say. Oh well I guess the kids will probably get me one off e-bay for Xmas

This is very cool news. I have the original book and certainly find it a great read and a truly invaluable tool to aid me in the goal of being a total James Bond geek.

I was just disappointed that 'Quantum of Solace' vehicles weren't included in the James Bond Vehicles mini-book that came with my 'Quantum' DVD... otherwise all of the entries were exactly the same as the full Encyclopedia (just a lot smaller) B)

Not really a fan of this cover, I don't really like those two images thrown together. I prefer the original silver design which was one full image.

Meh at the cover art.

The content is alright though, very insightful. Not something I would buy again though, if I already had it.

I already have a book that says a lot, but I'm looking for a more official aspect!

I really enjoyed this book, but won't be picking up the reissue.

I really did like the layout and the film section at the end of the book with trivia and notes about the production of the films.

It would be cool to do a series of books about the Bond films by decade with more making of information, etc.

I think I prefer the first edition, I'm not that convinced with this new orange cover with the logo of QOS replacing the silhouette of 007, I thought the original B&W was more classy. Besides, I believe that if you have to cut the EON series in some point of the time ('cause we don't know how many updated versions will come in the future), is better to do it with one of the most successful Bond movies with moviegoears and critics alike, than with a flick that got a mixed reception.

In fact I just ordered the 2007's James Bond Encyclopedia, albeit I'm aware it does have less pages than the new one.

The new encyclopedia is a major update. What's nice is QOS is weaved in throughout three book, unlike other books that just shove a few extra pages in the back. Also, there have been some revisions/corrections made to existing entires.

I never bought the first edition, but am loving the new book! Much better update than Rubin's Encyclopedias from the '90s.

The new encyclopedia is a major update. What's nice is QOS is weaved in throughout three book, unlike other books that just shove a few extra pages in the back. Also, there have been some corrections made to existing entires.

However, there are still some wrong numbers, particularly in the (new) QOS section, where it is written that this movie "would gross a phenomenal $576 million worldwide, the most succesful Bond film to date", which is inaccurate to say the least. QOS, actually, grossed more than that, $586 to be precise, but it's still not the most successful Bond film to date, that place is still owned by CR with $594 million worldwide.

And I think the time of publishing of the book isn't a justification for this mistake, because they could have avoided these faults simply with the word 'over' before the numbers (just like they did with CR in the first edition), and without speculate about which could have been -but in the end, wasn't- "the most successful Bond film to date" at the BO.
