I saw Hitman: the movie and thought it was pretty cool, but not great. But then I saw bloodrain: the movie, and it sucked. (I guess because Uwe Boll directed).

I've heard that Silent Hill was really good.

SILENT HILL was very good, although I would have enjoyed it more had Sean Bean been featured a bit more than he was.
I've heard about those films possibly being made, although they've been talking about them for a while, so it's a bid hard to determine how far along they are, or if they've made any progress at all. Of the three, a METAL GEAR SOLID film would be the one I'd be looking forward to the most.

Max Payne was pretty weak, for a game that's basically non stop gunfights, the film had what, two shooting scenes.
I don't know why a Splinter Cell movie hasn't been made yet, that could easily be a good Clancy-Bond blockbuster series if done well. It was in development with Peter Berg as director but I don't know what happened after that.

All three were terrible.MORTAL KOMBAT (the first one, not the dreadful sequel) was a great video-game to film adaptation. RESIDENT EVIL was also fairly decent, even if it didn't have much in common with the game series in terms of storyline. I also thought that SILENT HILL was quite good.

I didn't say that they were great movies, just great videogame to movie adaptations (there's a difference, considering that most of the films in the "genre" are amongst the worst films ever made in the history of cinema). None of the three are films that I've watched more than once.

He also wrote the screenplay for X-Men.

Not as far as I'm aware. He turned in a screenplay for METAL GEAR SOLID (which was apparently like a technothriller version of APOCALYPSE NOW), but it was rejected. I don't know what the status of the project is now, but Hayter's take wasn't received well.Apparently the Metal Gear Solid screenplay will be written by David Hayter, who is the voice of Snake in the games.

Back in the day I chose to see Super Mario Bros. in the cinema over Jurrasic Park!
I bet you still regret that to this day.

Who picks Leguizamo over Spielberg?
I'd take The Pest, Spawn and Land of the Dead over Hook any day.
