a lot of thread on director choice and actress choise. What style should bond 23 go for. Do we want to see more drama like Casino Royale and Quantum of solace. Do we want to see a more horror look to the franchise (not bond versus freddy krueger mind you just a more terror elemnt to the franchise) do we want to go back to the action feel of the 90's bond films?

For me i'd love a mixture of Suspense drama and action. persoannly if quantum is in bond 23 i wanna go home from the theater activly scared about quantum.

I was just thinking of this and I think the style should still have the glossy look that CR and QoS have but the tone should lighten up a bit with Bond enjoying himself more with a little more smart witty humor but still have a dark side of Bond's world to keep it grounded in reality. I think the villian for the next film should be different from the past two, maybe a little more larger than life but would still feel like a real person maybe have it be an older woman. I think less action would be nice but enough to keep the pace up and keep suspence by having the story unfold in an unpredictable manner and go back to the traditional editing style but some quick edits could be used like they were used in CR. I feel they should try to stage action sequences that are brutal and we see Bond's physicality throughout these sequences and have them be different from QoS or CR (no footchases). Terror would be something I would like to see maybe tied in with suspense because I think it would be interesting to see Bond in a Hitchcockian situation where he is at a formal party with the Bond girl (who is a innocent civilian) and the hosts of the party are the villians so they have to find a way to get out otherwise they may get killed, which is basically like the sequence in Sabatoge which has a terror element to it. Most important though is that I don't want to see a CR II or QoS II, I want to see something different when it comes to the films structure.

Stylistically, CR and QoS have combined to create, in my opinion, an absolutely-perfect Bond aesthetic in terms of mixing nostalgia and contemporary design. I say this in terms of photography, set design, costumes, music, everything. Absolutely perfect.

My only suggestion for Bond 23 would be to ever so SLIGHTLY up the quantity of glamorous locales (007 spent quite a handsome chunk of time in underdeveloped slums in QoS, although appropriate for the story) and to use a more conventional editing style for the action pieces.

Aside from that, I'm hoping for something quite similar.

In terms of style, Gassner did an amazing job on QOS. QOS was by far more stylish then CR, but CR was very colourfull and glossy. The cinematogary of the last 2 films have been stunning.
CR went to the Carribean, but spent most of it's time in Europe.
QOS spent a while in Europe, but majority of it's time in South America.
It's time Dan hit the slopes, get some snow back in Bond.
As for the choppy editting, I preferred Campbell's work in Cr it really showcased the action, but Campbell is more of a showman then Forster, whos a by far more arty film maker.

I think that the style of the last two films has been great, so I'd like to see that style stay around for a while. I do like the idea in the original post in the thread about bringing more of a horror element to the series. I think that there's great potential in that style if they went ahead and adapted the Garden of Death in one of the films.

Think they should continue with the same style as the last two films, QoS especially have a nice 60-vibe to it.

I liked the style of CR which was more relaxed and let the story sink in with the audiences. Personally, I didn't like the style of QOS. The whole movie was made at a frantically fast pace. When I watched the movie for the first time, I was unable to grasp many elements which I only understood on seeing the movie again. It seemed Marc Forster was concentrating more on winning an award for making the shortest bond movie of all times (good or bad, he did win that award) rather than letting the audiences enjoy the movie. I want Bond 23 to have a serious tone in terms of the main storyline and why does it have to be related to Quantum at all? Can't we make a movie with a completely different set of villains just as a standalone movie? Remember that Dr. No and FRWL both were directed at SPECTRE while Goldfinger followed a completely different storyline and became a smashing hit. Also, I would like Bond 23 to be made at a relaxed pace with some well written humor in it. I am tired of seeing Bond as a ruthless assassin and would like to see him do some other stuff than just shooting at people (has anybody counted how many people did Bond actually kill in QOS). Bottomline, a few smiles and a few laughs are not gonna steal any thunder from Craig's Bond and would let more people with varying mindset enjoy the movie.

An Asian country/location is bound to be in the next film.

My vote is for Indonesia (thrown in a couple of Komodo dragons for atmosphere or villain pets - incidentally a man was recently killed by a pack of them) or Cambodia and it's stunning ancient ruins. To glam it up, maybe Japan possibly the remote, mountainous and forested region of Hokkaido. CraigBond soaking in a hot spring ala Connery in YOLT.

The next movie really needs to look at the pre Dalton era of Bond movies in order to get things on a more comfortable track. Stylistically, CR is very different from QoS imo. CR is glossy, elegant and has a much more vintage Bondian feel. QoS while a great movie is bogged down with an overall dirty feel, dirty slums (unorthodox locales for a Bond movie but not really a bad thing)and horrible fast cut editing.
Right now, we need Bond to be enjoying what he does for a living, eager and proactive to go on assignment ala Connery in either FRWL or GF where he tells M he's not too busy to do the mission M has in store.

I want the style of Bond 23 to be like a mix of Quantum Of Solace and Casino Royale, but still something fresh and new. The style should be as similar and different as Quantum Of Solace was from Casino Royale, so that the film would have something special and distinctive, like it's predecessors.
