Had a look at the US edition. Very nice. They went with the same black edged pages like the UK edition. Jacket is a nicely textured and boards are red. Looks scary. One thing; they've toned the book down for the U.S. readers -- raised the age of the kids from 14 to 16, I'm sure there are other edits as well.

Barnes and Noble strangely didn't have a copy, so I'll probably have to go to Borders to find it. Haven't begun BRC yet as I'm trying hard to finish THE LOST SYMBOL, but boy is it dragging. Can't wait to read both of these though.

Few updates. Book 2, The Dead, is out Sept 16 (UK). Charlie has tweeted that he's currently working on Book 3. I've also heard (unconfirmed) that the series may extend to six books. Not sure what this means for the future of Young Bond, but good news for fans of this series.

I thought The Enemy was good, but I didn't really like how the character perspective kept changing so frequently within chapters. Just kind of weird.

I suspect the series could be drug out to any number of books. There really isn't a clear main character so there's a ton of story potential.

This was a pleasant surprise as I didn't get a comp copy of The Enemy. Thought I was just on the Young Bond list. But... :)

The Dead is out now in the UK.

Also, Charlie has confirmed that he is signed to write SIX Enemy novels.

I knew he would return to Horror. A "Young Bond" for the Harry Potter crowd scared the hell out of me. And I didn't even read the books (and have no plans to do so either).

You haven't read the Young Bond novels? Silverfin aside, they aren't your typical 12+ thrillers, and certainly don't cater to the Potter crowd (though I really don't mind those books one bit). They are legitimately good Bond adventures. I mean it'll take a day or two just to read one. I urge you to give it a go.

Can't believe this has only just officially been "released". I got my copy in the post weeks ago.

Anyway, haven't read the second book yet but the first was pretty gruesome stuff, especially for a kids book. Looking forward to reading volumes two and three.
