What i'm searching for is the novels and short storys that clearly mention the figure James Bond or/and 007 and not the almost-Bonds, like the oy-oy-seven-parodys by Weinstein, Avakouk Sachov vs 07 and others.

How many are they and whats the titles (please add your title);

The killing zone by Jim Hatfield (Does it really qualify?)
Bond strikes camp by Cyril Connolly
The scarlett letter by Adrian Turner
License to hug by Will Self
Your deal Mr Bond by Robert & Philip King
Ian Fleming thinks even James Bond goes shopping by Sebastian Faulks (from Pistache)

Would the 2 Moneypenny short stories by Samantha Weinberg ("For Your Eyes Only, James" and "Moneypenny's First Date with Bond") qualify as "unofficial"? I mean, since it's not officially Bond-centered, but Bond is a character?

Also I can't remember the title or author of another Bond short story I've read, so maybe it's already in the list. It was a kind of parody inthe Bond girl made Bond smoke pot or something in the like, which resulted in him being quite useless in bed. Does it ring a bell?

Well, yes of course you can count them in since James Bond is, more or less the centre of the storys.

Haven't heard a thing about that. Interesting. Anyone else?

That's the Self story.

The villainess slips Bond some skank (if I recall correctly) which prevents his you-know-what not from working.

It would never have happened under the authoriship of authorised continuation novelsists, would it? B)

I wouldn't count those in this list. No, they're not Bond-centric, but neither are Weinberg's full-length novels; both those and the short stories were commissioned by IFP.

About Alligator - while it is suppose to be a James Bond, but it's really J*mes B*nd. So where do we draw the line?

Bail out - that one was new to me! I would love to get my hands on that one. Where can I get it. Give me all info on that one if you have more to add. But as I understand it, it's not really a Bond short story? It's a short story where Bond is not the leading character. Ok?

As for the Moneypenny short storys - They are about Bond, but through Moneypennys eyes. And second - they aren't really "unofficial" since they are - as you say - commissioned by IFP, so I would withdraw them from the list. Ok?

What do you say about Killing zone by the way? Should it be on the list or not?

If your criteria is "unofficial Bond novels and short stories", then yes, it should be.

I don't know if it should go under that definition or as fan fiction. B)

Ok, I guess your right. So then we add Alligator to the list.

I'll look out more details on Bail Out - I have a copy somewhere.

I'll be happy if you find some more info. B)

Delurking to enquire - can anybody advise the name/editor of the anthology "Bail Out" appeared in?

Also, "Adrian Turner on Goldfinger" also contains further pastiche in addition to "The Scarlet Letter". Some are just pastiching the form and style, but right at the beginning of the book there is published what purports to be M's report on the events of both "Goldfinger" and "The Day of the Jackal". Toward the end is possibily the silliest Bond adventure ever, published in the "Goldfinger" cinema premiere brochure to advertise one of their sponsers, in which Bond meets the only woman he's ever known who always wears clothes (?!)

And relurking out....

Two suggestions

1."Doctor No will see you now"
by Alan Coren
Originally published in Punch. Available in "Pick of Punch" ISBN 0 09 1345707 or in an Alan Coren anthology called "The Rhinestone as big as the Ritz".

2. "Doctor Yes"
Published in "Best Campus Humor of the Swinging '60s" - Bill Adler, Editor. A signet paperback 1968

More obscurely -

"Sobranie was already sitting at the bar when he came down. The lash of Big Boy's whip had seared angrily into his skin, but had scarred his mind still more deeply.
Sobranie looked pale but surprisingly unscathed from her encounter. She was dressed in a skin-tight puce velvet gown that took nothing for granted.
'Chocolate rum sherbert', he told the barman, 'but it must be shaken, not stirred.'

etc. etc.

From "Whodunnit", in Eton Microcosm, Sidgwick and Jackson, London, 1964

and why not the first story of them all?

"With a serious effort James Bond bent his attention to the little yellow book in his hand........................"

"The Rajah's Emerald", by Agatha Christie

You're right, of course, and I was deliberately taking rather literally Mr Twilight's opening post which asked for "...short stories that clearly mention the figure James Bond..."

And to be fair, the VERY short extract in Eton Microcosm doesn't mention James Bond/007 by name, but it's part of an article inviting readers to guess authors by their literary style and so maybe just qualifies as a parody.
