I like her, but she's probably too big a name now.
She is a known actress obviously, but not so uber-huge that she would overshadow Craig, though.

Except that unlike Alba, Theron actually has something going for her in the looks department.

Unlike Alba, Theron is actually a critically-acclaimed and award-winning actress.
Agreed. I would never want Alba near a Bond film.
If Theron was to appear in a Bond film, I think I'd prefer her in a slightly smaller femme fatale role as opposed to the leading Bond girl.

Oops. I was getting her confused with Scarlett Johansson.Unlike Alba, Theron is actually a critically-acclaimed and award-winning actress.
But in all seriousness, I don't think actors should be cast in roles based on the selling power of their name, as was the case with Halle Berry. Nor should they be cast based purely on their looks; their acting ability should be what gets them their part, not their cup size.

In addition, I think she'll have passed the right age for Bond Girl material by the time Bond 23 rolls around...although age has less to do with it than casting the right person at the right price.

If she turned down the chance to star in Casino Royale...
Instead she did the mighty sci-fi masterpiece that was Aeon Flux!

LOL!
BTW, when was she offered CR? This is news to me.

She was on the shortlist for Vesper, but they never offered her the part, to my knowledge. Anyway, I prefer up-and-comers as opposed to established stars. As for Jessica Alba... YIKES! That's another Christmas Jones waiting to happen...If she turned down the chance to star in Casino Royale...

No, Eon should do what they've been doing, i.e. make new stars out of young talent as opposed to casting older established ones.
I agree with Hildey. Bond movies should make stars, not the other way around.

Eon made S Connery, D Craig, U Andress, D Bianci, L Paluzzi, J Seymore, B Eklund, B Bach, C Bouquet, C Lowell, F Jansen, E Green and O Kurylenko...and would have done the same with G Lazenby if not for the Aussie being dumb as a brick.

...Halle Berry, Michelle Yeoh, Teri Hatcher, Britt Ekland, Tanya Roberts, Grace Jones, Maud Adams, Lois Chiles were all well known when they became Bond women.
I'll give you Diana Rigg, but with the rest of those names, you're not exactly convincing me... most of them are considered sub-par Bond women.
To some, anyway... including me.

If only she gets a decent part in the movie, but that's up to the script writers, producers, etc.
