Has come a long way in the last couple years.

It is just a quality mod all round and getting a new update is like Christmas. It's by no means a verbatim recreation of the N64 classic, but a revision of it if it were a modern PC game. I particularly like what they've done with the music.

I sincerely disagree. It stinks of a Half-Life 2 modification with Bond skins. Avoid at all costs.
Erm.. well what do you expect? It is a modification (in BETA stages, mind you) of HL2! Like all source games you can tell it is running on the Source engine. Even Left 4 Dead a big budget retail game feels just like Counter Strike: Source. GE: Source adds maps, skins, weapons, great music, achievements, etc. What else could you expect from a free fan project?

That would be a valid argument if it hasn't been in development since 2004. Seriously, this mod went through developer hell, lost a key developer, went through various changes, had a few former members leak alpha builds... It's all a rocky ride for a HL2:Deathmatch mod with Bond skins.
The biggest problems are the speed (it's too fast compared to the original game), and there's a lot of hit detection issues. I once unloaded a few clips into an enemy, he didn't die, only for him to kill me in 2-3 shots. Tell me that's any good.
