What I'm going to say perhaps it was discussed before in other thread, and likely would not come as a surprise for the british posters... but the thing is I live in South America, and my local store brought, as usual, USA edition of movies, in this case CR in DVD and BD, I bought both thinking there was only one version or package for this second edition of the movie.

Now, searching in amazon, I just found out that there's another version, which actually have the title of Deluxe- not Collector's Edition-, that comes in another package's interior design, particularly different in the case of BD, which have a Box set that includes the booklet (in a similar shape to the american CE DVD version).

The Deluxe edition of Casino Royale is a considerable improvement over the collectors edition. For starters, there are two audio commentaries added. (Campbell and Wilson plus another featuring assorted crew). In addition to the featurettes included on the CE version, there are a number of new features. The best of these, in my opinion are The Road to Casino Royale and Ian Fleming's Incredible Creation. There are a number of others as well. Also there are storyboard comparisons which are well done (better than most that I have seen). The filmmaker profiles are nice little 10 minute featurettes about major crew members. Much better than the usual written essays found on most DVDs. Also, another must is the deleted scenes.

As I'm sure you can tell, the Deluxe edition is a great buy, and definitely worthwhile if you can lay your hands on it. I have been unable to find it so I bought it from the UK via Amazon.

Here is the list of features from Play.com

* Director & Producer Commentary
* Crew Commentary - Audio Commentary with scene-specific comments and observations from many of Casino Royale's creative team

I think your confusing the first edition with the Collector's Edition- which is the second edition of CR-, the latter (made in the USA) as far as I know has the same feutures than the Deluxe Edition, but the britsh one has a more complete package in BD, including the booklet which isn't available for the american BD.

In region 2, the first DVD to come out was the 2 disc version, labelled Collector's Editon. There was also a 1 disc version released. The 3rd version was the 3 disc Deluxe edition. Was it different in region 1.

I haven't checked out the BDs, so I can't comment on that.

In fact, I understand your confusion,golrush007, because the first british edition (the 2-discs one) was called Collector's Edition, but in the USA that first edition didn't have any particular name.

Yes, I just had a look on Amazon.com and see that the US versions are labelled differently to the UK ones.

That's right and I'm commenting in my first post about the difference between the latest edition of CR among UK and USA.

Definitely the brits get the better package, especially with the BD!! Oh, I whish that my Sony BDP S350 would be able to play not only region A, but also B and C.

... On a second thought.... I like that my BD package (Region A, Collector's Edition) was slim, unlike the Region B DE one, however, I would wanted that the booklet would have been included. But then again, I own the booklet anyway, from the american CE in DVD.
