So, dear ImTheMoneyPenny made me the dangerous gift of being host of the 5th bout of the "Thanks, M, but you really shouldn't have..." game!

After too many days of hard thinking (and the hard drinking that comes with it), here we go!

Reminder of the game principle: those who have seen QoS know M isn't really good at choosing gifts for her collaborators... So let's imagine what would her gift to Bond be in some situations

Here is what I propose to you for this 5th game:

After a somewhat unpleasant meeting with Le Chiffre, Bond is recovering in hospital. M wants to either send him or bring him in person a gift to cheer her agent up.

What does she come up with?
And / or what does she write on the card that comes with the gift?

While he's recovering in the hospital, M sends Tanner with a gift and a card for Bond. The gift is a sleeve of holiday-themed golfballs for his upcoming month leave and a card that reads: Bond, Tanner told me you're the best golfer in the Service. Here's a sleeve of festive golfballs. I wanted to get you the kitten-themed ones but they were sold out. Oh, bollocks! - M

Sorry MkB, I tried to be tasteful and subtle. But I couldn't help myself! I assure you M felt her gift was the of the utmost taste.

Knowing Bond enjoyed the finer things, M sent him a designer 'coccyx' pillow.
