I'm a nut for movie posters, so I thought it was about time we had a thread devoted entirely to them. Kicking off the thread, I thought I might share some poster re-designs by graphic designer Olly Moss. They're pretty fun, if nothing else.

Of that list, the INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE and DIE HARD posters are my favorites, though they're all pretty good.

What movie posters are among your favorites?

Promotional images like movie posters are allowed to be posted at CBn.

I wanted to post the unused On Her Majesty's Secret Service poster with the silhouettes of Mr. and Mrs. Bond in wedding attire but I can't find it using Google. :(

Can somebody post it for me?

EDIT: I found the poster in question. I posted it along with another good one below.

Wow, just wow. Who is this guy? And, more to the point, why does Hollywood keep insisting on giving us crappy posters when there's talent like this out there?

And a wonderful thread idea, Harms. Can't believe no one's thought of it before, actually.

Sorry for the shoddy scans but I had to rely on my sister to take the photographs. My James Bond Movie Posters book is at home and I'm at school.

I used to love collecting movie posters. Thy used to cover my bedroom walls at my parents' house and some are still there. But I have let that hobby slip away in recent years for the most part.

I love several of the Bond posters and Pulp Fiction stand out for me. Epics like the Star Wars and Indy films stand out as well. Animal House was a favorite. A Clockwork Orange is another haunting poster.

Sadly, like album covers, the era of great movie posters seems to have passed us by.

He's a graphic designer who just graduated. Up to this point, he's largely designed some t-shirts (pretty decent ones, too). But I daresay these posters are quite extraordinary, and puts to shame 99.9% of the movie posters you see today. Get this fellow on a Bond film, I say. I wish I could hang them all on my wall (they do make a great set, don't they?).

And a wonderful thread idea, Harms. Can't believe no one's thought of it before, actually.

Well, I love movie posters, and they're a great subject of discussion. I saw these posters today and wanted to share 'em, and so the idea for such a thread seemed natural.

Sadly, like album covers, the era of great movie posters seems to have passed us by.

It's true. But if you look hard enough, you can find some gems even in these times. Here are some terrific ones from recent years:

So I'm not at all willing to proclaim the world of poster art dead and buried. It's just harder to find great art than it was, given that Hollywood seems dead set on giving us photoshopped "floating head" posters for practically every film that comes out these days.

I love the posters for Tim Burton’s Batman (1989) and Batman Returns. The simple gold and snowy Batman insignias emblazoned on the respective posters. Not to mention the brilliant ‘The Bat, The Cat, The Penguin’ three faces poster. But, this un-used Batman (1989) poster really takes my fancy.
