A bit inspired by Top Gear, your challenge is to find a car online, but in your area that gives the best feeling of a Bond car for under £5,000 ($7,250US / €5,500 / use this link for other currencies)

Obviously we’re not actually buying the cars, but take it as if you’ve been handed £5,000 with the instruction to buy a Bond car.

Some Rules:

Any car over, say, 250 miles from your location will cost you £100 ($145us / €110) of your budget plus £10 ($14.50us / €11) for every fifty miles after that for shipping. Cars on other continents will cost you £2000 ($2900us / €2200) for shipping.

The car must be on sale either when you post or at least when this thread was started. There is no preset definition of what a ‘Bond Car’ as far as this thread is concerned, it obviously could be a car that Bond actually drove or a car that Bond might drive, or it could be a car that just gives you a Bond feel when you drive it. Or it could be a car loaded with gadgets. This is for you to decide.

A link to the car sale is required, and it’d be nice to post a picture and details in the thread. If you’d care to post a bit about why it’s a great Bond car well that’d work as well.

If you have room in your £5,000 budget feel free to add accessories, so long as you’ve links to where they are for sale. (Include shipping costs.)

Others are free to comment, pro or con, on other cars. Or feel free to discuss how to go about finding a car, ask questions, discuss what qualities you think would make a good on-the-cheap Bond car, or taunt others in good spirit.

If this thread doesn’t go over like a lead balloon, we’ll post a poll of the qualifying cars and determine a winner.

Good luck and may the best car win.

Well, with no gadgets we can have:

A Bentley Mulsanne to make you feel like Gardner's Bond. Or perhaps:

Saab 900 Turbo
(quite a nice looking one, actually- and in grey, natch)

Help Koskov to defect in your rather natty Audi 200

Look for a massive dish (before noticing yourself in the rear view mirror) with your BMW Z3. No gadgets (no change there, then)

Chase after Octopussy in an Alfa Romeo GTV6 (I rather fancy this one, actually)

Or if you really want to be Roger Moore; how about a Lotus Esprit?

Whoops; missed out on Pierce's BMW 7 Series.
And that leaves you over 2 grand to add a remote control system!

Funny, the seller refers to the car as "he" and "him"... It must be a very masculine car! B)
