Reading the novel Casino Royale, I was wondering which would have been Vesper's plan in the movie, in the case that Bond wouldn't have interfered in her deliver of the money to the organization in Venice. Having in mind that she already text message to Bond with Mr. White's number, hence Vesper was implicitly confessing her betrayal, so there wasn't a chance for turning back at that point.

My explanation or theory, is that Vesper had in mind something similar to her aims in the novel- expressed in her posthumous letter-: enjoy to the full her affaire with Bond, and then, after delivered the money to supposedly save the frenchalgerian ex-boyfriend's life, just running away (maybe not neccesarily wanting to get pregnant, as in the book) to save OO7 from a potential killing in the hands of the organization and avoiding to face him, after the betrayel was reveled.

I think Vesper knew she was going to die. Whether by Quantum’s or by her hands.

Do you mean that Vesper had already contemplated (or even decided) to commit suicide- in the case that the organization didn't kill her-, when shes said goodbye to Bond in the venetian hotel's lobby??

This is how I see it:

Quantum don't like to be played about, if you muck around in any way the simpliest way to deal with you is to just kill you, remeber Le Chiffre and Dominic Greene both slipped up at the first hurdle and both were killed.
Quantum wanted there money, Vesper should have let White kill Le chiffre and kill Bond, but she wouldn't let him. So they made the deal and Bond's life was spared. She knew when she saw Gettler stalking her movements in Venice that all was not black and white anymore. Thinking she would likely be betrayed in the exchange she left her phone in the room for Bond to find, hoping he'd come. Bond took the cue and went down. I'm guessing that as soon as the money was checked Gettler was told to kill Vesper before making his way back to the hotel to kill Bond, leaving mi6 with a dead agent and tresary official and no leads at all to run on. But due to Vesper, Bond got there in time and killed Gettler and his men. Vesper knowing full well that Quantum would never let her and Bond live in peace, they could no longer sail around the world, as Quantum would always be around the corner waiting to kill both of them, also, and more importantly, she had committed the ultimate betrayal, Bond could never feel the same about her again and she was caught red handed, she killed herself and in a sence set herself free from the whole awfull burden. But in another sence her death caged Bond to the life of a killer, from now on he has no soul left to salvage.

Overall, it make sense to me this view... but why Vesper didn't commite suicide just before to say goodbye to Bond in the venetian hotel (in some way like in the novel), hence avoiding to give funds to an evil organization??
