Why did Mollaka run to the embassy, what did he hope to archieve? Why did they even let him in?

In the script I think it said something about him wanting protection and the people in the Embassy said that he betrayed them or something like that. Don't quote me on this though, It's been a while since I last looked at the script.

Perhaps he knew that Bond would not dare to storm in there, hence M saying the he violated the only inviolable rule of the International Relationships (storm into an embassy). :(

Mollaka asked the Military Attaché to hide him, but he refused because "You don't work for us any more".

At least that's what's in the script - in French and apparently intended to be subtitled. Glad they dropped the subs - it wouldn't have fitted the flow of the sequence - but I don't know if what they're saying can still be made out. Any French members pick this up?

That's what happened in the script. He had even a security pass.
BTW, where's Nambutu? I've been looking for it in lots of Atlas but couldn't find any data.

I did that too Nicolas a while back. Answer? It's made up - I suppose for political reasons, EON wouldn't have wanted to make any country look like an evil bomb-maker hiding nation...even though Afghanistan fits the bill perfectly!

More like somewhere in West Africa --Afghanistan wasn't a French colony.

Initially I thought he may have been a Nambutu citizen and was seeking asylumn.

No no, I meant a country for hiding bomb-makers. I wasn't being literal! Seriously though, you're right, a West African country like Senegal or the Ivory Coast is more suitable given the French accents etc. but like I said before, it's safer to create a country rather than cause uneeded controversy by using an existing one.

Nambutu is a fictional country. You'll have to look in a fictional Atlas to find data about it. :(

Yeah indeed, the same reason Franz Sanchez didn't have his offices in Bogota.
