In most of the Brosnan movies they had the outside shot of MI6 accross the Thames. In Casino Royale they didn't have it but maybe because Bond never visited M there. I was expecting Marc Forster to have filmed it but who knows it's probably on the cutting room floor.

The design of MI6 changed between Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace so it would of been nice to let the public know that we are still in the same location. Should this shot be back in Bond 23?

The MI6 HQ in Quantum of Solace was the Barbican, I think. So I doubt that we will see Vauxhall Cross again.

I thought there was a shot of the Vauxhall cross building in Casino Royale, just a short shot before the interior when M comes storming in about "those self-righteous, :(-covering prigs"

But yeah, no MI6 building in Quantum.

But I also thought there was no shot of the MI6 building in Tomorrow Never Dies.

Yes, Joey Bond, I am under the same impression about a fugitive shot of the MI6 building in CR, but I may very well be mistaken.

About the Barbican, I didn't think it was supposed to be the MI6 HQ in QoS, it would be raher nonsensical from the filmmaker, since the official building is a well known landmark. I thought the Barbican was used for some exterior shots of M on the move between some meetings, and/or possibly as the place where Mitchell had his flat.

Right no shot in Tomorrow Never Dies.

I think in Casino Royale she is in the parliment building.

Yes, the establishing shot is of the Houses of Parliament.

And that shot was taken from the same angle as Goldfinger.

It is a hideous building so I could understand if they didn't want to show it.

does anyone know why the building was designed like that?

from wiki:

The setting of the SIS offices were featured in the James Bond films GoldenEye, The World Is Not Enough, Die Another Day, and Casino Royale. For the first time MI6 allowed filming of the building itself in The World is Not Enough for the pre-credits sequence, where a bomb hidden in a briefcase full of money is exploded inside the building. Originally, the government objected, citing a security risk. However, then Foreign Secretary Robin Cook said, "After all Bond has done for Britain, it was the least we could do for Bond."

On the evening of 20 September 2000 the building was attacked using a Russian-built RPG-22 anti-tank missile. Striking the eighth floor, the missile caused only superficial damage. The Anti-Terrorist branch of the Metropolitan Police attributed responsibility to Irish Republicans, specifically the Real IRA.[12

The Brosnan era Mi6 base is the real Mi6 base, not some thing we havent heard of.
Personally I prefer the Mi6 base from Goldeneye etc to the base ive seen in the Quantum of solace movie (Yes, I watched it finally, I loved Daneil Craig in the role!).
