how did they know the parachute had opened?

....I just don't see how mi6 could have known about the falling out of the plane, parachute opening etc...

The only time MI6 are shown to know about this is in the videogame, right? So here's the answer:

The game's cut-scenes are a cheap and nasty rush-job, poorly cobbled together to whisk you between barely-related shooting sequence and should be taken about as seriously as the narrative through-line of a Dick and Jane book.

Mharkin is right, that happened in the game, not in the movie, and they knew so because they were watching it via satellite (which sucks IMO, they even knew Le Chiffre's cards in the Casino and Bond's Aston accident..).

Best thing about that camera was it worked not just for the Chinook helicopter, but also in space.
