As much as I liked Vesper, which I do a good deal, I liked Camille even more. She's determined and tough, yet vulnerable. Yes, Fields is on the bubble for me, however, I find her a spunky girl who unfortunately got in over her head. Here's a great review that gives an insightful view to Agent Fields.

In the beggining I hated Camille's character! But when I watched the film for a second time I thought: "Yeah! There's a good Bond girl!"
She's a great character, they could have easily made her too tough or too in control making Bond unnecessary. MattofSteel pointed out that Camille is a mirror for Bond she's what he is or what he could become.

Yeah, Camille is a real match for Bond! She's not an imitation of Bond's equal girl like in TND! She's determined, powerful and the thing that counts the most is that Bond understands this! You only need to see the scene when Camille shouts:"GET IN!!" and Bond replying:"Alright!".
That's a match for Bond!

I really liked Agent Fields more than Bond because she's such a nice grounding for 007 in the world of normality. I never assumed she was more than a paper-pusher and I had hoped we'd see Agent Fields sent back to the home office and she'd be revealed to have the first name Moneypenny. It was a fool's hope as I knew she was doomed from spoilers but a part of me kept to it.
Camille....eh, just didn't work for me.
Loved both Camille and Fields. Never really cared for Vesper. Never understood why Bond loved her. She didn't seem any different from all the lippy Bond girls who talked back to Bond.... Nothing special about her, or maybe it's because I thought Eva Green was just miscast. Had it been Rose Byrne, it might be different.
