Humbug.
Write, Hitch, write! Squeeze out a couple of words.
BTW - I have something of interest over at Bondian's updated site.

You make my writing sound positively cloacal.

To be a Bond fan is great; To be a Fleming fan is even better!!!!!
So I'm dedicating my short story to him and CBn. I know I'm not the writer I'd love to be, but I like what I do and it gives me the greatest satisfaction! And I owe all that to the fact that I am an Ian Fleming fan. As for CBn, this is the only place where I really feel at home. So thank you Ian and CBn!
I know I know, I'm being a bit heavy but what the heck...it's Christmas.

So Bond and Christmas is an even bigger no-no for me, but hey, if you want to write something, this is a free country, so go ahead.

C'mon folks. There is no Christmas in Bond...
But at the end of The World Is Not Enough, there is Bond in Christmas.

Christmas eve I'll post it, so anyone interested'll have a nice Christmas present on the actual day.
From what my mates tell me Fleming would be proud! I hope they're right.
Here's a teaser. Harry Fawkes writing as Ian Fleming
...It was the red one that, at exactly 1500 hrs and two more cigarettes and four folders later, broke the silence in his room.
It was M’s Chief of Staff, Bill Tanner.
‘He wants you to have dinner with him at Quarterdeck. Tonight - seven thirty.’
‘Dinner?’ asked Bond. ‘What’s the old man up to, Bill?’
‘I’ve no idea, James. Just don’t be late.’
‘As if I’d bloody dare,’ said Bond crossly and hung up.
Ten minutes later and he was driving the Continental Bentley back to his flat in the pleasant plane tree-lined square off the King’s Road in Chelsea to get ready...

I'm on my last leg.
Lucky you: I'm on my knees!
Seriously, I'm not sure I'll be able to come up with something, guys... It's been a rather horrid week, and I'm afraid the next'll be just as bad. I'll try though...

That's too bad MKB. I'm sorry to hear that. But please find the time to view my first page.
Hope things turn out better for you.

I'll go through it tomorrow night for any last minute corrections. I don't think I'll be making any changes to it though.
Anyway, in this short story of sorts I have chosen to pick off exactly where Fleming left off and have 'tried' to send Bond back to the height of the cold war (apologies to Sebastian Faulks of course).
I have worked hard to capture the essence of Fleming's novels in a few pages but, of course, you, the gentle reader out there, will be the final judge of that.
As for Christmas being the point of it all I can assure you that, yes, I have fitted it in together with a slight reference to the ghost of Christmas past and the ghost of Christmas future (if I can describe it that way).
I hope you like it. I will post it on Christmas Eve (if I'm not too drunk )
Yours truly
Harry Fawkes

I have a friend who several years ago did a Bond story/cartoon based on Twas the Night Before Christmas. I should ask him if I can post it here.
Ok,My friend Steve Hess (who is a cartoonist) did this "For Yule Eyes Only" several years ago and I finally got it scanned and posted online today. I hope you enjoy it.

I suggest that it could include also Christmas stories posted in the past years. And next year, another post linking to the new set of christmas stories could be added.

Bryce gazed upon the cold tombstone as the rain fell.
Sipping the scotch from his flask, he removed the small velvet bag from his pocket and fitted the ring on his finger. He felt his eyes well.
"I miss you Victoria"
The terror of that one horrible day. The later news - that she was three weeks along - insuring that his heart could not be any greater torn from his soul - had made 003 vow that she would not be forgotten and that the evil in the world would always be destroyed. It would not rule his life.
The echo of the gunfire. Her body throwing itself against his own as she shielded him.
Her voice warning him with alarm - "DARLING!"
The impact of the three rounds that punched into her back. Her eyes going wide as they fell.
The sound of the wheels from the black sedan.
The warm stain of her blood.
The rest a blur.
MI6, MI5 - Ace, Gala, Matt, Tanner, medics, metro....
The Admiral.
Joyce - pulled out of Tokyo and arriving on his door in tears.
He stared at the grave in the Welsh village.
His life would go on.
So would her's.
If only in his heart.
"Happy Christmas my love."
He walked in the rain back to the Jaguar. Opening the passenger door, he slid in and put on his seat-belt.
Lava Sterling sat behind the wheel.
"John...You're still loved." Her eyes held warmth.
"Take us back to the inn....I need a brandy and ginger ale....Thank you."
With that, the Jaguar slowly cruised out towards Fishguard.

Wouldn't be the season without an appropriately cheesy title, either. So tomorrow, catch Ian Fleming's James Bond in -

If it feels a bit disjointed it's partly because I didn't have much time to write but also because it fits Joyce's emotional state.
Warning: not a happy tale.

"Christmas isn't really the best time of year for us is it?"
Thankfully, it's only true for our alter-ego's.
Really well written (as you always do) gorgeous.
Now, to get some other of these bits of work that have turned up.
