I think Bond was taking the pee about Le Chiffre's soul being nothing more than corrupt and dirty, so refering to a Priest for free him, not just a Devil.
(Hence a Priest would never do a deal!)
Just an annoyed ayet observant Bond making a little dig at Le Chiffre.
...I think!

I'm not sure what you're talking about guys? Is it a line from CR or QoS?
I can remember a line from QoS, I believe it's when M is mad at Bond because he kills all possible leads, and she reminds Le Chiffre was killed so all they got was his body, and he tells her "Well, if yu wanted his soul, you should have made a deal with a priest".
Not verbatim, but something along those lines.

It's a line from the start of Quantum of Solace.
M mentions that the Americans were less than happy at getting the [dead] body of Le Chiffre and Bond retorts that if they had wanted his soul as well then they should have made a deal with the priest. He isn't talking about a specific priest, he's making a joke.
The joke is in good context as they are in Sienna, a very religious place. The subtext of corruption is there also, as mentioned above.
